19、code and identification list. 2)3 Terms and definitions For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in EN 3475-100 apply. 4 Materials and construction of cables 4.1 General The composition, dimensions and mass of the cable shall conform to the characteristics below, as well as

20、 the values specified in the product standards. 4.2 Conductor 4.2.1 Material See product standards. 4.2.2 Construction See product standards, conductor shall not be spliced. *And all parts quoted in Table 1. 1) In preparation at the date of publication of this standard. 2) Published as ASD Technical

BS EN 4604-001:2009EN 4604-001:2009 (E) 5 4.3 Dielectric See product standards. 4.4 Screening 4.4.1 Material The materials used for screening are defined in the product standards. The screen strands or strips shall be free of kinks or cracks and t

22、heir surface shall have no corrosion at all or any other impurities. 4.4.2 Construction Construction shall be in accordance with the product standard. Splices of the individual strands or strips may be affected by brazing, soldering or folding in. The number of splices shall not exceed 1 per 3 m len

23、gth of cable. 4.4.3 Screen coverage The screen is constructed in such a way that the screen meets the electrical requirements defined in the product standards. 4.5 Outer jacket See product standards. 4.6 Colours of components and jacket See product standards. 5 Required characteristics The character

BS EN 4604-001:2009EN 4604-001:2009 (E) 9 7 Quality assurance 7.1 Qualification 7.1.1 General requirements See EN 9133. 7.1.2 Qualification conditions The cables shall be submitted for qualification tests on drums,

41、 spools or in coils in sufficient lengths, wound evenly and uniformly. Each drum, spool or coil shall have a label containing information given in 9.1. 7.1.3 Qualification tests See Table 1. 7.2 Acceptance test 7.2.1 Required conditions 7.2.1.1 General See Table 1. The acceptance tests shall be carr

42、ied out on cables delivered against an order to check that the cable characteristics are maintained. 7.2.1.2 Tests to be carried out on all cables The cables which fail any of the tests specified in 7.2.2 shall be rejected. 7.2.1.3 Random sampling tests: retest If any of the specimens fails one of t

43、he tests specified in 7.2.3, that test shall be repeated on another set of specimens selected at random from the same batch. If one of these new specimens fails the test, the batch submitted for acceptance shall be rejected. 7.2.2 Production routine tests The tests shall be carried out on all cables

44、 delivered. See Table 1. 7.2.3 Tests prior to delivery They shall be carried out by sampling on each delivery batch. See Table 1. BS EN 4604-001:2009EN 4604-001:2009 (E) 10 7.2.4 Periodic tests They shall be carried out by sampling at least every three years. Unless otherwise indicated the “X” means

45、 applicable at the same condition specified for qualification. See Table 1. 8 Identification, marking and colour 8.1 Identification See product standards. 8.2 Marking It is applied to the outer sheath or on a tape beneath a transparent outer jacket. See TR 6058, Clause “Marking since March 1998” but

46、 without specific and AWG-cable size code. 8.3 Colour The colour of the marking is in accordance with ISO 2574 if not otherwise defined in the product standard. 9 Packaging, labelling and delivery length 9.1 Packaging and labelling Cables supplied on drum, spools or in coils shall be wound evenly an

47、d uniformly. All cable ends shall be easily accessible and protected where necessary. Each drum, spool or coil shall have a label indicating: manufacturers name and designation; cable designation according to the EN product standard; batch number; date of manufacture (month, year); inspectors mark;

48、total length and length of each piece of cable in metres from inside to outside. 9.2 Delivery length Delivery length, see product standards.
