26、 Ventilation structures are protective systems to provide the ventilation flow after the occurrence of an explosion such that the effects of an explosion on the ventilation system can be limited and adequate possibilities remain for escape and rescue. NOTE These structures may be used when ventilati
27、on studies indicate that the air flow in the work place would be reduced considerably providing no safe escape for workers in cases where the structure is destroyed. Explosion proof ventilation structures will be individually evaluated for directional stability of ventilation flows and in order to e

35、to 2 bar (2-bar explosion proof ventilation structure) comprises at least one air shutter frame according to 5.2. When air doors have to be provided in these air regulators, the former shall be designed, for transport and haulage purposes, as folding leaf doors according to 5.3.3 which are set again
36、st the direction of an explosion and as a pressure-relief folding door according to 5.3.2 for the travel way (see Figure 1 a). Where it is not possible to determine clearly the direction of the explosion, the air doors shall be provided on both sides of the air shutter frame (see Figure 1 b). EN 145

38、e and approved for use below ground. Only hydraulically-bonded materials having a tensile bending strength of 3.5 N/mm2(7-day value) shall be used. 5.2.2 Air shutter frame length and rib thickness The minimum length of the air shutter frame is obtained from equation (1): bSal=5,295,0wbar2D(1) The va

42、ction to strata The air shutter frame shall be set into the strata to an all-round depth of at least 250 mm so as to create a solid abutment. Yielding components (compression inserts) may be used between the strata and the air shutter frame in order to absorb strata movements. The thickness of the c
43、ompression insert shall be allowed for in addition to the 250 mm-deep contact surface. 5.3 Air doors 5.3.1 General The air doors shall resist an overpressure of 2 bar and shall remain operative. 5.3.2 2-bar travel way door The 2-bar travel way door shall be constructed as a pressure-relief air door.
44、 Both door leaves shall allow simultaneous opening up to an angle of 90 from the door frame. Sealing bars shall be made of hardly combustible and antistatic materials (see EN 13478 and EN 13463-1). The construction represented in Annex A as an example has been verifiably tested. Diverging dimensions
45、 shall be proven for their intended use with a proven static calculation. 5.3.3 2-bar haulage way door The 2-bar haulage way door shall be constructed as a non-pressure-relief air door. Both door leaves shall allow simultaneous opening up to an angle of 90 from the door frame. The construction repre
46、sented in Annex B as an example has been verifiably tested. Diverging dimensions shall be proven for their intended use with a proven static calculation. 5.3.4 Control system The control lines and connections shall be protected from the potential effects of an explosion. Actuating contacts shall be
47、designed and installed in such a way that they cannot be triggered by the pressure wave of an explosion. 6 Marking The 2-bar travel way door and 2-bar haulage way door shall be permanently marked with the year of manufacture and manufacturers stamp according to Directive 94/9/EC.
