BS EN 15182-4:2007+A1:2009EN 15182-4:2007+A1:2009 (E) 4 1 Scope In addition to the requirements given in EN 15182-1, this document applies to hand-held high pressure branchpipes (nozzles) PN 40 with a maximum flow rate of 200 l/min at a reference pressure of 6 bar (0,6 MPa
19、). It deals with: safety requirements; performance requirements; test methods; classification and designation; operating instructions; marking and maintenance. This part of this European Standard applies to branchpipes as defined in Annex A of EN 15182-1:2007. 2 Normative references The following re

26、al device single mechanical device engaging detents 4 Requirements 4.1 General The branchpipes, covered by this standard, shall comply with EN 15182-1. 4.2 Mechanical characteristics 4.2.1 Dimensions and mass The branchpipes (without inlet coupling) shall not exceed the dimensions and masses specifi
27、ed in Table 1. 28、 use, the inlet of the branchpipe should be connected to the hose with an appropriate device. 4.2.2 Operating and handling elements 4.2.2.1 The torques needed to move the operating elements shall not exceed the values given in Table 2 at pressures up to the nominal pressure. 30、on of the flow. If a different operating element is used, the “closed“ position shall be clearly identified. 4.2.3 Flow adjustment positions If a branchpipe has a device to select flow rate, the flow rates settings shall be easily identifiable by both visual and mechanical means (haptical device wit
31、h corresponding numerical values). If using a rotating operating element for flow adjustment, the adjustment shall be achieved by a rotation movement of maximum 180. 4.2.4 Jet adjustment positions The various jet positions shall be clearly marked. The narrow spray jet position (see 4.3.5) shall be e
32、asily identifiable by both visual and mechanical means (haptical devices). Jet adjustment from a straight jet to a wide spray jet with a spray angle of at least 100 shall be achieved by a rotation movement between 70 and maximum 180. NOTE This requirement is included in the standard as a safety deta
33、il to provide the user with a means to produce a wide protective spray jet of at least 100 achieved within a 180 rotation (one hand twist movement). 34、acteristics 4.3.1 Pressures The following pressures shall be used for determining the hydraulic characteristics: reference pressure: pR= 6 bar ! 0,1 bar“; median pressure for type 4 branchpipes: pm; nominal pressure: pN= 40 bar; test pressure: pt= 60 bar; burst pressure: pB= 100 bar. 4.3.2 Flow rate
35、s All flow rates indicated on the branchpipe shall be measured at straight jet position and at the maximum spray angle position. Table 3 shall apply to the deviation in flow rates which can be set at the reference pressure pR. NOTE 1 The deviation should also apply when the shape of the stream is al
36、tered. 37、in an instruction handbook. 4.3.3 Effective throw The high pressure branchpipes shall achieve, for each flow rate position, an effective throw effd as shown in Figure 1, when set to a straight jet at the reference pressure. 38、 l/min Y Effective throw effd in m Figure 1 Effective throw 4.3.4 Wide spray jet The wide spray jet shall have a spray angle of at least 100 . 4.3.5 Narrow spray jet A narrow spray jet position between the straight jet and the wide spray jet positions shall be provided on the branchpipe. The narrow
39、spray jet shall have a spray angle of at least 30 . 4.3.6 Type 4 branchpipes For type 4 branchpipes, the manufacturer shall give the regulation range (pressure at the beginning of the range and pressure at the end of the range), from which the median pressure is calculated. With the valve fully open
40、, the flow should be set at both the minimum and maximum flow and the pressure for each shall be read. This pressure shall not deviate from the median pressure by more than 30 %. This information shall be provided in graphic format as shown in Annex C of EN 15182-1:2007. BS EN 15182-4:2007+A1:2009EN
41、 15182-4:2007+A1:2009 (E) 9 4.4 Leak-tightness The closed branchpipe shall show no leakage during 1 min at the test pressure pt= 60 bar. NOTE No leakage means no visible weeping or drop formation. The opened branchpipe shall show no leakage during 1 min at the nominal pressure pN = 40 bar. 4.5 Hydro
42、static requirements The branchpipes shall fulfill the tests defined in 5.5. 5 Testing and proofs 5.1 General Unless otherwise specified, tests shall be carried out at the reference pressure pR, after the tests specified in part 1 of this European Standard, in the following order. 5.2 Jet spray angle
43、 5.2.1 Spray angle measurement Arrange the branchpipe on a fixed support in a horizontal position 1,5 m above the ground, in a zone where the wind speed is lower than 2 m/s (see Figure 2). Arrange vertically a rule in the longitudinal axis of the extremity of the branchpipe at a distance of 1 m. Thi
44、s rule, with a height of 3 m, shall have three coloured zones symmetrically arranged on both sides of the longitudinal axis. The outside diameters of the zones are defined in the Table 4. 48、0 % = effd = 0,9 maxd ; pressure at the inlet of the branchpipe: Rp; inclination: (30 0,5) ; height: (1 0,01) m (as per drawing); maximum wind speed: 2 m/s (Beaufort scale 3). The measurement shall be carried out when the system is stabilised. The maximum throw shall be given in the instruction hand

All air shall be bled out of the system. The pressure shall be increased by 5 bar increments and held for 30 s at each p
