29、sign requirements in accordance with appropriate documents, but also maintain their performance during the required working life. The structural elements need to retain acceptable minimum safety factors at the end of their working life and the acoustic elements do not only have to remain effective s

30、tructurally but provide the specified acoustic performance.All elements in the construction of noise barriers and related devices acting on sound propagation should be resistant to electrolytic or/and chemical corrosion and embrittlement, be dimensionally stable and have generally a high ageing resi

43、The manufacturer shall define the working life under all the exposure classes listed in the Table 1. In all cases, the working life of the noise barrier or related device acting on sound propagation is the minimum of the working lives of its components.Adverse effects on the long-term performance of

44、 contact with the ground shall be taken into account.If water is likely to degrade the required working life, the design shall ensure that contact with water and water retention are controlled through design or that protection from the influence of water is provided.The working life of structural an

45、d acoustic elements can be different; therefore, they shall be assessed under the same exposure conditions when installed on the same site.If a change in humidity and/or temperature and/or UV affects the dimensional stability of materials used in the construction, then the design shall allow for suc

46、h changes and ensure that the performance continues to fulfil the performance characteristics.When referring to resistance to the specific conditions listed in Clause 1, special care shall be taken for combinations of different materials, whether inside a single device or in combination with other d

47、evices (for example: a combination of different acoustic elements or another combination of acoustic and structural elements).Where different materials are used in the construction, all appropriate measures shall be taken to avoid electrolytic and chemical corrosion or interaction that could adverse
