15、992 could be accepted without textual changes, has shown that no common modifications were necessary for acceptance as a European Standard. 18、 Short wave infra-red emitters 1 Scope This part of IEC 240 refers to short wave infra-red emitters for industrial heating purposes falling into two categories: a) Bulb reflector infra-red lamps. b) Tubular emitters. 2 Normative references The following normative documents contain provisions which,

All normative documents are subject to revision, and parties to agreements based on this part of IEC 240 are encouraged to investigate the possibility of appl

For the purposes of this part, the following definitions apply: 3.1 short wave infra-red emitter: An emitter which radiates mainly in the short wave infra-red, .e. having a maximum emission at the wavelength equal to or less than 2 pm and for which light production is not of direct interest. 9
23、3404583 0137942 267 EN 60240-1 : 1994 3.2 bulb reflector Infra-red lamp: An infra-red emitter comprising a tungsten filament enclosed in a hermetically sealed bulb containing an inert gas and in which part of the bulb is shaped and metallized so as to direct radiation. 3.3 short wave tubular infra-r
24、ed emitter: An infra-red emitter for operation at high temperature comprising a linear filament enclosed in a hermetically sealed infra-red transmitting tube which may contain an inert or predominantly inert gas with the linear tungsten filament held parallel to the axis of the tube. 3.4 rated watta
25、ge: The wattage marked on the emitter. 3.5 rated voltage: The voltage for which the emitter is designed. 3.6 rated voltage range: The interval between the highest and lowest voltages specified and indicated on the emitter by the manufacturer. 3.7 design voltage: The voltage at which the objective ch
26、aracteristics are obtained. NOTES 1 If there is only one rated voltage. the design voltage is the rated voltage. 2 mean value of the rated voltage range. If the emitter is marked with a dual rated voltage (rated voltage range), the design voltage is to be the 3.8 maximum permissible cap and bulb tem
27、peratures: Temperature on cap and bulb of the infra-red emitter which should not be exceeded when operated under any service condition. For measurement see IEC 598. 3.9 maximum permissible pinch temperature: Temperature of the pinch which should not be exceeded when operated under any service condit

For measurement, see IEC 682. 4 Marking The following information shall be marked on the emitter: a) Mark of origin (this may take the form of a trade mark, the manufacturers name, or the name of the responsible supplier), and manufacturers type reference. b) Rated wattage. c) Rated voltage or
29、rated voltage range. d) For bulb reflector infra-red lamps only, the marking IR (infra-red): - - - IR 1 for low-temperature service; IR 2 for high-temperature service; IR 3 for very high-temperature service (see note 2 to the table in 5.1).
