This test can a

20、lso be done on similar devices when the detail specification so prescribes. The object ofthis test is to define a standard test methodto verify the ability ofa connector to prevent the accidental touching ofits contact by the front ofthe mating connector. It is primarily intended to be applied to cy

21、lindrical multi-contact connectors which are required to be scoop-proof 2 Normative reference The foliowing normative document contains provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this section of IEC 605 12-1. At the time ofpublication, the edition indicated was valid.

24、The connectors shall be fitted with their full set ofcontacts. They shall be wired as specified by the detail specification. 4 Test methods 4.1 Procedure A suitable device for detecting electrical continuity, such as an ohmmeter, shall be connected between the housing (shell) of the free connector a

25、nd all of the contacts in the fixed connector wired together. O BSI 12 February 2002 3 EN 60512-1-411997 4.2 Method A While attempting to mismate the free connector, fitted with female contacts to the fixed connector fitted with male contacts, at various angles and rotations as illustrated in Figure

26、 1, any evidence of electrical continuity shall be noted. The test is then repeated on a set ofconnectors with the free connector fitted with male contacts and the fixed connector fitted with female contacts. 27、:1997 4.3 Method B The free connector fitted with male contacts is coupled with the fixed connector fitted also with male contacts (see Figure 2). The connectors shall be subjected to the test 4a, voltage proof test, in accordance with IEC 60512-2 60512-4-111) at the specified test voltage. The volt

29、 male contacts 5 Requirements 5.1 Method A During the attempted mismating, there shall be no evidence of electrical continuity between the housing (metal shell) and the male contacts. 5.2 Method B No breakdown or flashover shall be observed. 6 Details to be specified When this test is required by th
