34、t methods Part 5: Electrical properties3 Test 4: Dimensions 3.1 Equipment3.1.1Round and rectangular wireThe equipment used shall have a resolution of 2 m or less forwires over 0,200 mm and forwires up to andincluding 0,200 mm, a resolution of 1 m or less. Both mechanical contactand opticalnon-contac
35、t micrometersmay be used. If mechanical contact micrometers areused, the ratio of measuring force and anvil diameter shall be in accordance with the range asgiven in Table 1a and Table 1b. The diameter range of the spindle and anvil is also given inTable 1a and Table 1b. If optical micrometers are u
36、sed, the average of the readings shall berecorded asthe diameter of the conductor. 38、l conductordiameters over 0,063 mm and up to and including 1,000 mm.3.2.5.2 RectangularwireOn a straight piece of wire at each of three placesat least100 mmapart,one measurement shall be made of the two dimensions of the wire. Where the dimension of the specimen isgreater than the diameter of the mi
39、crometer spindle, measurements shall be made both at thecentre ofthe face of the specimen and overthe edges.If these values differ, only the highestvalue shall be noted.The three single values shall be reported foreach dimension of the wire. The mean valuesrepresent the overall width or the overall
40、thicknessrespectively. 3.2.5.3 Bunchedwire NOTE The method indicated below gives useful values in practice, but not an accurate overalldiameter.The overall diameter is the width of a layer wound on a mandrel divided by the number ofturns.The bunched wire shall be wound closely on a mandrel according
41、 to Figure 1 and undera tension in newtons, which is 65 times the total nominal cross-section ofthe conductors in square millimetres. Thewidth of the layer shall be not less than 10 mm for bunchedwires withoverall diameters up to and including 0,5 mm, and be not less than 20 mm for largerdiameters a
42、ndshall be measured with a precision of 0,5 mm.One measurement shall be made. The overall diameter rounded off to 0,01 mm shall bereported.3.2.6Increasein diameter due to thebonding layer of enamelled round wireThe increase in diameter due to the bonding layer is the difference of the overall diamet
43、erwith and without the bonding layer.The overall diameter of the wire shall be measured according to 3.2.5.1.After removal of thebonding layer by means ofasolvent or any other suitable agent or by any other method whichdoes not damage the underlying coating, the measurement shall be repeated. Thedif
