21、on for radiating cables 1 Scope This part of IEC 61196 covers the requirements for flexible and semi-flexible radiating coaxial communication cables. It specifies preferred ratings and characteristics for radiating cables and enables selection of the appropriate tests and performance levels from the

22、 generic specification for inclusion in the detail specification. NOTE The coupling intensity between cable and mobile equipment depends on construction of the cable; orientation of antenna; distance of the mobile antenna from the cable; type of antenna; nature of ambient atmosphere; operating frequ

23、ency range; manner of installation of the cable; shape, material and size of surrounding buildings. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. 26、tions given in IEC 61196-1 and the following apply. 3.1 radiating (coaxial) cables coaxial communication cables with outer conductors that are intentionally not completely closed, so that part of the energy transmitted or received through the cable is coupled by the transmission system formed by the

27、 outer conductor of the cable and the external environment NOTE Radiating cables can be used to create radio links between fixed stations connected to one end of the radiating cable and mobile stations which are within the transmitting/receiving range of the cable. They are preferred for use in tunn

28、els or other installations in which conventional radio transmission is not satisfactory or even impossible. 4 Preferred ratings and characteristics 4.1 Classes Radiating cables may be classed according to Iongitudinal loss; coupling loss; performance in fire. 4.2 Characteristic impedance The preferr

29、ed characteristic impedance of the radiating cables covered by this specification is 50 or 75 . 5 Marking The cable shall be permanently marked along its length. 6 Test and measurement procedures and conditions This clause gives test procedures and conditions generally used for radiating cables. Fur

34、ncy (a c50 , a c95 ) type of fire test. 8 Packaging Packaging requirements shall be left to the discretion of the manufacturer of the radio- frequency cable unless specific packaging requirements are incorporated in the contract or purchase order. _ 1)To prevent the influence on the test result of i

35、ntercoupling between layers and windings on a drum, it may be necessary to measure this characteristic on an uncoiled piece of cable (preferably as specified in Annexes A and B). 2)As they depend on the environmental conditions, coupling loss and longitudinal loss shall be measured with the same arr

36、angement, either ground level method or free space method. Page6 EN611964:2004 Annex A (normative) Attenuation constant A.1 Procedure Measurements can be carried out by one of the two methods: ground-level method; free-space method. A.1.1 Ground-level method The arrangement of the cable is given in

37、Figure A.1. The cable is laid on non-metallic spacers which gives the cable a distance from the concrete floor of 10 cm to 12 cm. The cable must be at least of the length 10 , where is the cable wavelength of the measuring frequency. A.1.2 Free-space method The arrangement of the cable is given in F

38、igure A.2. The cable is laid on non-metallic posts at a height of 1,5 m to 2 m. The cable must be at least of the length 10 , where is the cable wavelength of the measuring frequency. A.2 Measurement (see Figures A.1 and A.2) Adjust the generator frequency and record the output power level with a sp

39、ectrum analyser, a network analyser or equivalent. If the source is built into the measurement device, a cable of known attenuation can be used to connect the far end of the cable. Feed the signal to port A of the cable and record the power level at port B. The nominal characteristic impedance of th

40、e cable shall be matched to the nominal impedance of the test set-up. 48、antenna centre shall be the same as that of the cable and its horizontal distance from the cable shall be about 2 m (see note in B.1.1). Preferably a half-wavelength dipole shall be used. The type and gain of the antenna used shall be stated in the result. No other metallic parts than the cable and

49、the antenna shall be included within a cylinder of 2 m (min.) in diameter surrounding the axis of the cable and the centre of the antenna.
