26、n In many countries, there are legal requirements that certain spent secondary batteries should be kept separate from normal waste disposal. The return to recycling facilities requires appropriate channels. The identification of such batteries by a standardized symbol should improve the protection o
27、f the environment. 1 Scope Icll) This European Standard defines the conditions of utilization of the recycling symbol of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) combined with the indication regarding EC directives associated with the chemical symbols indicating the electrochemical s
28、ystem of the battery. (ciil NOTE The term “battery” as used throughout this standard covers batteries constituted of several single cells as well as single cells distributed and used separately. In all cases cells have to be marked individually with the exception of those constituting a battery or a
29、 subassembly that cannot be dismantled. For example, traction batteries and stationary batteries should be marked on or near the type plate only. The object of this standard is to present recommendations concerning the size of the symbol and its location on the surface of the cells and batteries or
30、on the packages of button cells. 2 Normative references The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this International Standard. 33、) (ciil together with the indication of the battery chemical symbol Icii) (see Figure 3) (ciil shall be placed on batteries listed in clause 1, according to the following rules. 3.1 Location of the symbol 3.1.1 Prismatic cells and batteries The symbol shall be placed at least on one side of the batt
34、ery. “A” (see 3.2) is the surface area, in square centimetres, of the largest side of the battery. 3.1.2 Cylindrical cells and batteries The symbol shall be placed on the cylindrical surface. “A” (see 3.2) is half the surface area, in square centimetres, of the cylinder. 3.1.3 Button cells No markin
35、g on the cells, but on the package, is required. NOTE should be marked according to 3.1.1 or 3.1.2. 3.2 Dimensional rules for the symbol 3.2.1 IS0 symbol 7000-1135 The background surface area containing IS0 7000-1135 shall cover at least 3 % of the reference area “A”.
