Foreword The text of the International Standard IEC 61925:2005, prepared by Technical Area 8, Multimedia home server systems, of IEC TC 100, Audio, video and multimedia systems and equipment, was submitted to the formal vote and was appro

15、ved by CENELEC as EN 61925 on 2006-03-01 without any modification. The following dates were fixed: latest date by which the EN has to be implemented at national level by publication of an identical national standard or by endorsement (dop) 2007-03-01 latest date by which the national standards confl

17、r electronics companies are developing home server systems and service, but their vocabularies of home server systems are different from each other. In order to start a discussion on home server systems, it is necessary to standardize the vocabulary of home servers. This standardization is also impo

18、rtant for users in order to operate the home server system easily. EN 61925:2006 4 MULTIMEDIA SYSTEMS AND EQUIPMENT MULTIMEDIA HOME SERVER SYSTEMS VOCABULARY OF HOME SERVER 1 Scope This International Standard defines the vocabulary of a home server for multimedia home server systems. Its intended us

19、e is to assist user interface designers and editors of product documentation by defining standard terms for the new commands and functions that home servers offer. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. 21、ment, the following terms and definitions apply. 3.1 User commands of home server 3.1.1 Record stream commands 3.1.1.1 auto renewal recording recording the most recent episode of a specified TV show over the previous one NOTE A user can automatically record an episode of a specified TV show either e

22、very day or every week directly onto the hard disk, with the most recent episode being recorded right over the previous one. If the previous episode is being played back while the new one is being recorded, the new episode will be recorded onto a different section of the hard disk. 3.1.1.2 recording

23、 mode mode varying quality and length in recording NOTE A user can set one of different recording modes, each varying in recording quality and length. For example, LP (Long-Play) mode yields the most recording time, SP (Standard-Play) modes provide less recording time with higher quality recording,

35、ng start point when the fixed time has elapsed. 3.2.4 multi-scenario contents TV programme which consists of more than one scenario that develops according to the users choice 3.2.5 multi-view contents TV programme which consists of more than one video/audio stream NOTE For example baseball = videos

36、 from different angles and same audio, or golf = different holes (different video and audio). 3.2.6 playlist playback playback according to the playlist 3.2.7 relief recording recording onto the hard disk if there is not enough disc space in the optical disc NOTE The remaining disc space before reco

37、rding onto an optical disc is checked, and, if there is not enough disc space, the entire programme gets recorded onto the hard disk.
