25、-3:2000 MULTIMEDIA SYSTEMS AND EQUIPMENT - COLOURMEASUREMENTANDMANAGEMENT- Part 3: Equipment using cathode ray tubes 1 Scope This part of IEC 61966 deals with equipment using cathode ray tubes (CRT) to display colour images for use in multimedia applications. A series of methods and parameters for c

26、olour measurements and management for use in multimedia systems and equipment is applicable to the assessment of colour reproduction. The methods of measurement standardized in this part are designed to make possible the objective performance assessment and characterization of colour reproduction of

27、 CRT displays which accept red - green - blue analogue or digital signals from electrical input terminals and output colour images on CRT display screens. For CRT displays to which analogue signals are applicable, corresponding digital signals shall be taken into account in applying this part of IEC

28、 61966. The measured results are intended to be used for the purpose of colour management in multimedia systems. This part of IEC 61966 defines input test signals, measurement conditions and methods of measurement, so as to make possible the colour management and comprehensive comparison of the resu

29、lts of measurements. Colour control within equipment is outside the scope of this part of IEC 61966. It does not specify limiting values for various parameters. 2 Normative references The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of

38、N -1. 4, DG, d 2 4h. 5 Conditions 5.1 Environmental conditions All measurements specified in this standard shall be carried out in an area free from signifi- cant electromagnetic fields. All the measurements in this standard, except those in clause 13, shall be performed in a dark room environment.

39、Particular attention should be paid to preventing reflected illumination caused by the ambient objects (desktop, wall, etc.) and direct illumination from light-emitting indicators of measuring instruments. One hour of warm-up time should precede the measurements in 7.2, 9.2, 10.2, 11.2 and 14.2, unl

40、ess otherwise specified by the manufacturer of the equipment. The mains voltage and frequency should be at the rated value specified by the manufacturer of a CRT display. When the mains voltage fluctuates, a regulated power supply shall be used to maintain the supply voltage to within 5 % of the rat

41、ed value. Other environmental conditions such as room temperature and relative humidity shall be reported together with the results of the measurements. If additional environmental conditions are described in the manufacturers specifications, these should be taken into account. 5.2 Conditions of mea

42、surements a) Contrast, brightness and additional adjustments shall be set to the positions specified by the manufacturer of the CRT display under measurement. When the adjustment is not in line with the manufacturers specification, the actual position or corresponding value shall be reported with th

43、e results of the measurements. b) Equipment arrangement for non-contact measurements shall be as shown in Figure I. This arrangement incorporates a spectroradiometer or a non-contact colorimeter, depend- ing on the characteristics to be measured. The instrument optical axis shall be normal to the ce

44、ntre of the surface of the CRT display. The distance d shall be 4h or greater. NOTE It is recommended to take precautions so that the measurement is not influenced by vibration and no picture elements are missing within the field of view of the measuring instrument.
