、cation Standard (ETS) has been produced by the Terminal Equipment (TE) Technical Committee of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). ITU-T Recommendation T.571 11 I (“Terminal characteristics for the telematic file transfer within the Teletex service“) indicates the telematic fi
、le transfer for facsimile Group A as for further study. Within the ETSI environment, the use of this ETS also applies to the facsimile Group 4 service, since the telematic protocol used for the telematic file transfer is identical for Teletex and the facsimile Group 4 service. Since the telematic fi

These include: ETS 300 O1 5 “Terminal Equipment (TE); Basic and recommended additional requirements for termi

Common modifications 1) Delete the scope in ITU-T Recommendation T.571 111 and insert the following text as the scope for this ETS: I “1 Scope This ETS contains the technical
、description for implementing the functionalities necessary for the telematic file transfer. The ETS is based on ITU-T Recommendation T.571 Ill. The description of the service requirements can be found in CCITT Recommendation F.551 I81. The objective is to allow the transmission of data files using t
、he telematic file transfer possibilities with or without additional information concerning the file to be transmitted“. 2) Add the following normative reference to Clause 2 (Normative references): CCllT Recommendation F. 184 (1 992): “Operational provisions for international facsimile service betwee
、n subscriber stations with group 4 machines (telefax 4)“.“ 3) Replace subclause 3.1 (Basic Transfer Mode) with the following text: I “3.1 Basic Transfer Mode It provides the user of a telematic equipment (Teletex or facsimile Group 4 apparatus) with a means to exchange files of any kind (binary file
、s, word-processor native format documents, bitmaps, .I without additional information.“ 4) Amend the second, and last, sentence of subclause 3.2 (Document Transfer Mode) to read: I “In the Teletex and Group 4 facsimile environment the DTM is merged to the BTM feature.“ 5) Amend bullet points a) and
、b) of subclause 5.2 (Protocol aspects) to read as follows: “a) The telematic file transfer for Teletex and Group 4 facsimile equipments is based on the 1 CCITT Recommendation T.62 session. b) Teletex or Group 4 facsimile equipments may negotiate one or more of the features mentioned above. The mecha
、nism used is the same as the one used for the private mode negotiation (.e. CDCL Command Document Capability List1 or RDCLP Response Document Capability List Positivel).“ Amend the first sentence of subclause 9.1.1 (Parameters used in CDCLmDCLP) to read: 6) “The parameters described below (figure 1) allow the negotiation of tL capabliitieq bztween Teletex I and/or facsimile Group 4 equipments.“ 3404583 OLOLOBb LO2 = February 1994 Page 4 ETS 300 154: 1994 First Edition Document history
