7、Recommendation GSM 01.02 describe the GSM mobile communication services and the GSM PLMN in general. The whole set of GSM Recommendations as defined in Recommendation GSM 01.01 describe the GSM services and network in detail. In order to give PLMN operators some flexibility, the concept of services

Owing to the further development of the subscribers demand and the technological progress, which cannot be described at present, the further evolution of services and GSM PLMN may be required. To deal with this, the concept of possible further

9、 evolution phases is defined in this Recommendation. 1. GENERAL In section 2 of Recommendation GSM 01.06 the concept of services corresponding implementation phases is defined. All specifications regarding individual services are contained in the GSM Recommendations according to GSM 01.01. The conce

The corresponding detailed specifications should therefore be elaborated later and included in the GSM Recommendations. 2. SERVICES IMPLEMENTATION 2.

11、1. Definition of the different services implementation phases The following upwards compatible groups of services are to be implemented by the dates given below: - El : Start of Service - 1991. Operation with telephone service and a few supplementary services applicable to it. - E2 : 1994. Operation

12、 with telephone service and a limited set of non-voice services as well as a limited set of supplementary services. - E3 : 1996. Operation with telephone service and an extended set of non-voice services and an extended set of supplementary services. EX/AX: Contains services which are identified and

The classification of E are also provided with an index indicating

This classification means that the service will be implemented not later than in the services implementation phase indicated in the index, but it may be implemented earlier. Both E and A services shall be impl

Application Introduction of E services is recognized as mandatory according to the dates given in section 2.1 or as otherwise agreed with the signatory at the time of signing the MOU. 3. FURTHER EVOLUTION “Possible further evolution phases“ re

Such possible further evolution phases could become necessary, for example, due to evolution in the following fields : - customer need - technology in the GSM P

18、LMN and its mobile stations - technology and services implementation in the fixed networks. In those cases where possible further evolution phases have been identified, these are described in the GSM Recommendations on the services in a special section “possible further evolution phases“. However, the evolutionary process described here, require that the GSM Recommendation regarding technical system specifications, allows a smooth transition from one generation of subscriber equipment to another.
