16、ission equipment and ancillary equipment intended to be used within a public telecommunication network. Supervisory equipment may also be used in conjunction with radio equipment. The function of supervision may either be comprised of separate equipment or form part of other telecommunication equipm
17、ent. If the function of supervision forms part of a telecommunication equipment the performance may be evaluated simultaneously with other functions (such as switching and transmission during EMC testing. Such equipment includes: - network management; - operator access maintenance; - traffic measure
18、ment systems; line test units; - functional test units. This ETS specifies the operating conditions and the minimum compliance criteria for such equipment. The applicable EMC tests, the method of measurements and the limits are specified in ETC 300 386-1 l, from which the EMC requirements are select
19、ed taking into account the priority of service provided by the equipment under consideration. The environmental classification used in this ETS refers to ETS 300 386-1 l. The requirements of this ETS do not cover those cases where a potential source of interference which produces individually repeat
20、ed transient phenomena or continuous phenomena is permanently present, e.g., a radar or broadcast site in the near vicinity. In such cases it may be necessary to use special protection applied to either the source of interference or the equipment interfered with, or both. Equipment for cabled distri

These normative references are cited at the appropriate places in the text and

For dated references, subsequent amendments to or revisions of any of these publications apply to this ETS only when incorporated in it by amendment or revision. For undated references the latest edition of the publication referred to applies. 51 ETS 300 386-1

The equipment test conditions shall be as close as possible to the installed conditions, as defined by the supplier. Wiring shall be consistent with the suppliers recommended procedures, and the equipment shall be in its housing with all covers and access panels in place, unless otherwise stated. If the equipment is designed to be mounted in a rack or cabinet, it should be tested in this configuration. A sufficient number of p
