2、AND NUMERALS 1 INTRODUCTION With the use of microfilming, drawings are subject to a considerable reduction in size which places a greater emphasis on high quality lettering and lettering proportions. These should conform to ISO 3098/21974(E) which has been designed for microfilm application. 2 DEFIN
3、ITIONS (Reserved) 3 REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STYLE 3.1.1. The single stroke upper case lettering and numerals will be used in line with Lettering Standard B Vertical which has a line thickness to letter height ratio of 1: 10, see Figure C2.1. 5、d dense to ensure satisfactory reproduction and legibility in either ink or lead. 3.4 UNIFORMITY 3.4.1 Uniform style and line thickness must be maintained throughout the drawing, although height, size and spacing will vary according to usage. Reduced text height may be used on A4 drawing forms only.

Bold text may be used for clarity. 3.4.2 For CtM, text heights may be scaled proportionally from those shown in Figure C-2.2 where necessary for clarity. Uniform style and thickness shall be maintain
7、ed throughout the model. 3.5 FREEHAND LETTERING 3.5.1 It is permissible but not recommended. Freehand lettering must conform to the standard. See Figure C2.2. 3.6 LETTERING AIDS 3.6.1 Used for freehand lettering, the use of aids to improve uniformity is encouraged. The use of lettering templates is
8、recommended, particularly for main part numbers and drawing titles. 3.6.2 For typewritten appliqus and computer aided design drafting systems, the fonts and vertical text spacing which most closely match the ISO 3098/21974 (E), Technical DrawingLettering Standard must be used, and must meet microfil
9、m standards and receive Ford Motor Company Engineering CAD and Drafting Standards (FECDS) Committee approval. 3.6.3 The following are the recommended fonts for specific CAD packages. IDEAS - ISO 3098 CATIA- ISO 3098-3 (ISO 3098-2 acceptable for earlier C3P NG releases) For software not listed above,
10、 Arial True Type fonts are preferred. Similar True Type fonts are acceptable.
