SPECIAL characteristics are listed in a producers Control Plan with their special controls. 2 DEFINITIONS 2.1 SPECIAL

2、 CHARACTERISTICS 2.1.1 CRITICAL CHARACTERISTICS Those “product or process requirements that affect compliance with government regulations or safe vehicle/product function AND which require special actions/controls. Product or process requirements can include dimensions, specifications, tests, proces

3、ses, assembly sequences, tooling, joints, torques, welds, attachments, component usages, etc. Special actions/controls can include manufacturing, assembly, supplier, shipping, monitoring, and/or inspection actions/controls.” (Reference Ford Automotive Procedure FAP03111.) 4、dum for the process to designate Critical Characteristics. 2.1.2 SIGNIFICANT CHARACTERISTICS. Those “product, process and test requirements which are important for customer satisfaction and for which Quality Planning actions must be summarized in a Control Plan.” (Reference Ford Automotive Procedure

5、 FAP03111.) 2.1.2.1 Significant Characteristics are selected by Cross-Functional teams based upon their analysis of product features and process parameters relative to customer satisfaction and control requirements. See the flow chart in Addendum for the process to designate Significant Characterist

6、ics. 2.2 CRITICAL CHARACTERISTIC IDENTIFICATION 2.2.1 The engineering requirements for identifying and communicating Critical Characteristics are defined in Ford Automotive Procedure FAP03111. The primary way to identify Critical Characteristics is through FMEAs. Design FMEAs and Process FMEAs help

7、define the effects and magnitude of the product and manufacturing variations. ENGINEERING CAD however, if a Control Item part number appears in the field of the drawing, it must be preceded with an inverted delta (V) symbol. See Figure E-2.1.1. 3.1.8 On tabulated drawings, only Control Item part num

8、bers will be preceded with an inverted delta (V) symbol. See Figure E-2.1.1. 3.1.9 When placing an inverted delta (V) on a drawing, the center of the symbol is aligned with individual dimensions, the center of vertically disposed limits, and the first line of a multiline note. Where multiple notes a

9、re controlled, the inverted delta (V) must be applied to each note, as applicable. When multiple features in a pattern are Critical Characteristics, only one inverted delta (V) symbol may be directed to a surface by having an apex of the symbol touch the surface in edge view. See Figure E-2.1.1. 3.1

10、.10 An inverted delta symbol (V) on a leader to a feature applies to the features individual characteristics, such as size and form; other requirements, such as the relation to other features (for example: position, parallelism, perpendicularity), if they are Critical Characteristics, need an additi

11、onal inverted delta (V) symbol. Where a form symbol or positional symbol is used in conjunction with a size dimension or a local note, an inverted delta (V) must be applied to each if both are Critical Characteristics. 17、 control to assure customer satisfaction. NOTE: Significant Characteristics are not to be identified on released drawings, details and assemblies. Ford Motor Company drawings shall be released with Level One Materials only. Control Plan and DFMEA/PFMEA documents are considered Level Two Materials an

18、d as such, information from these documents shall not be shown on Level One drawings. For more information regarding Level One and Two Materials, see the PPGTC: https:/ Tagging may be used as an alternative to synchronize the drawing and control plan, See Standard C-3, para 4.3.1. 3.3.4 All Signific

19、ant Characteristics determined by the team shall be included and identified in the suppliers Control Plan, along with other significant process characteristics. 3.3.5 Significant Characteristics may be identified on nonreleased pictorials (drawings, illustrations, etc.) to support the Control Plan.

20、3.4 EQUIPMENT STANDARDS NOTES 3.4.1 Certain products affecting compliance to F/CMVSS require that the manufacturer of those products certify to the vehicle manufacturer that each item of equipment sold to the vehicle manufacturer complies with the appropriate Equipment Standard. 3.4.2 A note is to b

21、e provided on each affected Product Engineering drawing that describes the manner of certification (DOT symbol, sewn on label, etc.) and location on the part/assembly.
