23、 Unless otherwise specified by theappli cable Engineering Material Specification(s), lot size shallnormally represent parts produced during a perio d not exceeding eighthours o r one working shift and not exceeding 250 000 pieces.Produ ction processes shall be a factor in determining lot sizes, which
24、 must be acceptable to the Ford representative.5.3 BATCH defines a specific quantity of raw material either blended orcomp ounded at a supplier location for use at that facility.Nor mally, a batch of raw materials will represent that quantityprocess ed in a given vessel at a given time. Batches can
25、varysignificantly in weight and/or volume, but generally can be definedby the total quantity of constituent materials mixed at one time.5.4 QUALIFICATION TESTS are those tests specified by Ford ProductEngineering, in the Eng ineering Material Specification, and are usedto qualify materials to engineering requirements. Qualificationtests and acceptance tests must be performed as part of the initialsample approval. Quali fication tests shall be used as necessary forraw ma terial approval, blending or compounding control and whenquestions regarding material quality arise.
