SCOPE This specification defines the adhesion requirements for an adhesive or an adhesive system suitable for bonding module window assemblies to painted body sheet metal. 2. APPLICATION This specification wa

3、s released originally for adhesive used to bond ESB-M2D348 RIM urethane and ESB-M4D284 polyvinyl chloride weatherstrip to painted metal. Compliance with this performance specification does not guarantee the adhesive will function for all potential applications on a vehicle. The specific assembly sho

4、uld be evaluated to design engineering performance requirements. Materials meeting this performance specification are specified on the corporate approved source list. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 CONDITIONING All test values indicated herein are based on materials conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23

5、 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise stated herein. 3.2 SHEAR ADHESION Average load specified or substrate breakage Subject bonded test assemblies to the following exposures: . Bond test coupons with the adhesive specified by Body and Chassis Engineering Office. . Condition test assemblies for

9、 120 h minimum prior to environmental exposure. . Subject test assemblies to the environments listed above. . Allow test assemblies to condition 24 h minimum after environmental exposure before pull test. . Conduct shear pull test on a tensile tester at a rate of 25 mm per minute. . Report peak load

10、 at failure and indicate type of failure mode. ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATION ESB-M11P30-A Page 3 of 4 Figure 1 OVERLAP SHEAR ASSEMBLY 3.3 MODULE WINDOW ASSEMBLY PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS Parts assembled with adhesive shall meet all engineering requirements specified by ES-D7WB-6529600-AA. 3.4 FU

11、NCTIONAL APPROVAL Materials being evaluated for initial approval to this specification shall be subjected to a production trial. Functional trial results should be available to design and materials engineering prior to material approval and release. 3.5 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITY All materials supplie

12、d to this specification must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any change in the properties, composition, construction, color, processing or labeling of the material originally approved under this specification, whether o

13、r not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology and the affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changes and obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineering activity. Test data, test samp

14、les and a new code identification are to be submitted with the request. ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATION ESB-M11P30-A Page 4 of 4 Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply to the materials addressed by this document. The restrictions are defined in Engineering Material Spec

15、ification WSS-M99P9999-A1, unless a different suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specified on the engineering document for the application. 4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Materials defined by this specification must have prior approval by the responsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approval

16、 of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from the affected Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Upon request, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineering activity its own laboratory report to the specification (test results, not nominal v

17、alues), the material designation and code number, and test specimens for Ford evaluation. Upon approval, the material will be added to the Engineering Material Approved Source List. 5. GENERAL INFORMATION The material data included herein is for information only and is not a requirement for the supp

18、lier. 5.1 SUBSTRATES 5.1.1 ESB-M2D348 RIM Urethane - 5.1 mm nominal thickness. 5.1.2 ESB-M4D284 Polyvinyl Chloride - 5.1 mm nominal thickness. 5.1.3 Painted metal panel: Use current production paint as specified by the Body and Chassis Engineering Office - 0.8 mm nominal thickness. 5.2 ADHESIVE Use ESB-M2G246 urethane adhesive and designated primer as specified by the Body and Chassis Engineering Office.
