、, MOLDED, HIGH DENSITY ESB-M12G62-A NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is made of glass fibers, bonded with an inert thermosetting resin and compressed into a semi-rigid matt. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used a
、s a molded, sound absorbing headliner substrate. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For
、Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.3 WEIGHT, +/- 10% tolerance 820 g/m2as specified on engineering drawing 3.4 CONSTRUCTION 3.4.1 Glass Fiber Diameter 4.6 - 7.6 m Test Method: Measure the diameter of 10 fibers using a calibrated microscope or other suitable means and report the average value.
、3.4.2 Binder Content 12 - 26% phenol formaldehyde or equivalent Test Method: 1. Cut up a 300 x 300 mm sample into a nichrome or stainless steel wire basket (50 mesh). 2. Condition in a mechanical convection oven at 102 +/- 3 C to a constant weight and record. 3. Heat in a muffle furnace at 538 +/- 1
、0 C until binder is burned off. 4. Cool, weigh, and calculate % binder on basis of conditioned weight (step 2). 7、ntegrate, delaminate, sustain mold growth, develop an objectionable odor, or lose rigidity to an extent that it will not support its own weight. Test Method: Suspend 300 x 300 mm sample in a relative humidity cabinet maintained at 38 +/- 1 C and 95 - 100% R.H. for 5 days. Remove and examine. 3.6 SOU

(ASTM C 384) Required for initial source approval only. 250 Hz 1 500 Hz 10 1000 Hz 25 2000 Hz 50 The above sound absorption requirements are based on a sample 19.1 +/- 1.9 mm thick having a density of 40.1 +/- 4.0 kg/m3. 3.7 RESISTANCE TO ADHESIVE SEEPAGE, initial approval only S
、hall resist penetration or seepage of ESB-M2G55-A, Water Dispersion, Rubber Base Adhesive, and/or ESB-M2G149-A, High Heat Resistant Adhesive, through more than 25% of the original material thickness. In addition, there shall be no through “spot“ bleeding, in any area of the material Test Method: Pre
、pare a 305 x 305 mm X thickness of sample. Apply 15 - 20 g of ESB-M12G55-A or, ESB-M12G149-A on the middle 305 x 305 mm of a 305 x 381 mm phosphate coated and primed steel panel. Place the sample of the treated surface of the panel, then roll with a 305 mm roller weighing 2.3 kg, without applying ad
、ditional pressure. Turn the panel upside down and rest the pad on 3 equally spaced rods. Each rod will have a 13 mm diameter and be securely fastened to a 305 x 305 mm masonite board the assembly in a mechanical convection oven, maintained at 102 +/- 2 C. Load the test panel with sufficient weight t
、o compress the pad 50% over each of the three rods. The weight must be evenly distributed to give uniform compression. Examine the assembly for seepage after a 24 h period in the oven. 3.8 FLAMMABILITY, max 101 mm/min (FLTM BN 024-02, without the lot sampling plan) In addition, the test specimen shall not exhibit any flashing or sudden flaming on either surface in excess of the above maximum value.
