SCOPE The material defined by this specification is an extruded cellular polyethylene with 260, zero twist, polyester reinforcing strands of a quality suitable for manufacturing welt fillers. 2.

3、APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used as a welt filler to be covered with fabric for use in interior automotive trim assemblies such as seats, headlinings and door trim. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part

4、producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 APPEARANCE (FLTM BI 109-01) The color, pattern, and finish shall match the approved Design Center master sample, or shall be as specified on the engineering drawing. 3.3 DIMENSIONS As specifie

7、 and to the requirements specified on the engineering specification issued for each specific design. In addition, the finished welts and bindings must meet the following requirements. 3.6 COLD FLEXIBILITY (FLTM BN 102-01, except use a 1/4 in (6.4 mm) diameter mandrel) Welts or bindings subjected to

8、flexing in service (i.e. extrusions used on seat cushions and backs) shall withstand a 180 (3.1 rad) bend at -35 C without fracture. Welts not subjected to flexing in service (i.e. extrusions used along headlinings or quarter trim panels) shall withstand a 180 (3.1 rad) bend at 29 C without fracture

9、. 3.7 RESISTANCE TO ELEVATED TEMPERATURE No more loss of grain or color change than the master sample approved for production by the Textile Engineering Section, BEPE Materials Engineering Department, after exposure at 88 C for 7 days. Also, there shall be no evidence of any bond delaminations. 3.8

10、DIMENSIONAL STABILITY, max +/- 2% Test Method: Select samples having a minimum overall size greater than 10 in (254 mm). Using a sharp knife or razor blade, scribe 2 small parallel cuts 10 in (254 mm) or more apart into the foam surface. Measure and record the distances between the parallel lines be

11、fore and after exposure to the nearest 0.04 in (1 mm) and calculate the percentage change. Expose separate samples as follows: . 3 h at 88 C . 2 h at 23 C . 16 h at -35 C . 4 h at 23 C 3.9 FLAMMABILITY, max 4 in (101 mm)/min (SAE J 369) In addition, the test specimen shall not exhibit any flashing or sudden flaming on either surface in excess of the above maximum value. 3.10 ELONGATION OF ASSEMBLY, min (FLTM BN 13-7) At 20 lb (89 N) Stretch Load 4.0%
