SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a vinyl plastisol cast on metal for use as a bonding grade insert in the construction of metal decorative buttons. 2. APPLICATION This specification w

3、as released originally for material used in conjunction with approved bonding qualities of door panel cover vinyl material. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Mater

4、ials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 CONSTRUCTION 3.2.1 Metal The quality of the metal employed and the dimensions shall be as specified on the engineering drawings. 3.2.2 Vinyl Plastisol The thickness of the vinyl plastisol shall be as specified on the engineering drawing and shall be resolved by functional

5、bonding tests conducted for each specific design, in order to assure maximum bond strengths with no visible vinyl plastisol flow-out. 3.3 ADHESION (Vinyl Plastisol to Metal) The adhesion of the vinyl plastisol to the metal shall exceed the vinyl to vinyl bond strength as noted in para 3.4 and the ma

6、terial shall be free of large voids or contaminants that may cause arcing in the dielectric press. 3.4 BOND STRENGTH, min 6 lb (27 N), unless (FLTM BN 113-01) otherwise specified on engineering drawing The button assemblys adhesion to the approved vinyl cover material shall be such that there is no

7、evidence of vinyl to vinyl separation. There shall be no separation of the metal components during the above tests. 8、 Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 302, the materials, portions of components, and composites shall not burn, or transmit a flame across its surface, at a rate of more than 4 in (101 mm) per minute. To demonstrate compliance, the sample size and method of testing shall be in accordance with

9、FLTM BN 024-02. 3.6.2 Performance - Environmental Aging All materials, portions of components, and composites defined by this specification that have not been treated, modified or reformulated and exceed a maximum burn rate of 3.0 in (76 mm) per minute as specified by the Flammability Lot Sampling P

10、lan of FLTM BN 024-02, must be evaluated for permanency of the materials flame retardant properties per ESB-M25P3-A according to the accelerated environmental aging requirements applicable to the basic material category of this particular specification. Any material, portions of components, and comp

11、osites defined by this specification that have been treated, modified or reformulated to conform to Flammability Lot Sampling Plan of FLTM BN 024-02, regardless of maximum burn rate, must be evaluated for both permanency of materials flame retardant properties and changes in mechanical, chemical and

12、 physical properties per ESB-M25P3-A applicable to the basic materials category of this particular specification. 3.6.3 Flammability Test Program Materials, portions of components, and composites governed by this specification must also comply with the requirements of ES-D3AB-11014-AA. 3.7 APPROVAL OF NEW DESIGN All new button designs shall be functionally approved by bonding under production conditions and bonded assemblies shall be supplied for engineering test and approval prior to release.
