、L FLOURIDE ESB-M4D279-A POLYVINYL CHLORIDE - METAL NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a composite of clear weatherable, ultraviolet absorbing, polyvinyl fluoride (PVF) film, and a pigmented polyvinyl chloride (PVC) film, laminated to a metal substrat
、e. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used for station wagon side rails and parts of similar construction. The polyvinyl fluoride is laminated to the polyvinyl chloride. This composite is laminated to aluminum with the polyvinyl fluoride film being the weather exp
、osed surface. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 CONSTRUCTION 3.1.1 Substrate Aluminum, or as specified on engineering drawing. 3.1.
、2 Polyvinyl Chloride The pigmented vinyl (PVC) film shall have the necessary flexibility and elongation characteristics to allow it to be easily formed without delamination, color change, crazing, cracking or excessive loss of embossing. 3.1.3 Polyvinyl Fluoride This material (PVF) is back printed w
、ith light fast inks to obtain the specified color and grain pattern. Refer to para. 5.1. 3.1.4 Lamination Suitable adhesives shall be used to bond the polyvinyl fluoride and polyvinyl chloride films to each other and to the metal substrate. It is not intended to limit the type of adhesives used, and
、 any bonding system which provides laminations meeting the requirements of this specification is acceptable. 3.2 METAL SUBSTRATE As specified on engineering drawing.
