SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a polyvinyl chloride or copolymer molding compound conforming to the physical properties according to its durometer hardness. 2. APPLICATIO

3、N This specification was released originally for material used for miscellaneous parts, such as pillar caps, door lock knobs, head lamp seals, wheel skirt to fender seals and interior trim items. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers

4、 must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 APPEARANCE (FLTM BI 109-01) The color, pattern, and finish shall match the approved Design Center master sample, or shall be as specified on the engineering drawing. 3.3 PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS The pr

5、operties of molded slabs made from production stocks shall conform to the following: *Hardness Tensile Durometer, A Specific Strength, Elongation, Tear Resistance, (ASTM D 2240, Gravity, max MPa, min %, min kN/m, min 15 s delay) (ASTM D 729) (ASTM D 412) (ASTM D 412) (ASTM D 624, Die C) 44 - 55 1.35

8、erials not subjected to flex in assembly shall withstand -29 C without failure. Materials subjected to flex in assembly shall withstand -34 C without failure. 3.6 FADE (FLTM BN 001-01) Shall not stain, exhibit color tone change or change in hue, in accordance with rating 4 - 5 of the AATCC Gray Scal

9、e for evaluating change in color (10 step) after 120 SFH exposure. Production materials shall exhibit lightfastness qualities equal to or better than the approved sample (based on suppliers test data and test specimens as reviewed by the Textile Section) on file in the Textile Section, Body Material

10、s Engineering Department. Stain and fade requirements apply to parts which are visible and where a stain or fade could be objectionable. 3.7 CONTACT AND MIGRATION STAINING When a section of the production part is placed in direct contact with coated cardboard, leather, rubber, vinyl coated fabric, t

11、extiles or painted metal prepared per FLTM BI 103-02, normally used with the material in an assembly, and is exposed for 120 h in a mechanical convection oven maintained at 82 +/- 3 C, it shall not exhibit excessive contact and/or migration staining, softening, or tackiness of the contact material.

12、Production materials shall exhibit resistance to staining qualities equal to or better than the approved sample (based on suppliers test data and test specimens as reviewed by the Textile Section) on file in the Textile Section, Body Materials Engineering Department. 3.8 FLAMMABILITY, max 100 mm/minute (FLTM BN 024-02, without the lot sampling plan) In addition, the test specimen shall not exhibit any flashing or sudden flaming on either surface in excess of the above maximum value.
