This sealer issimilar to ESB-M4G267-A, except it does not utilize an EVA film backing.Release paper backing is incorporated on back sides of mat

APPLICATION:This specification was released originally for material used in the BodyShop for sealing joints and openings where welding is a requirement.It has an aggressive pressure sensitive adhesive which promotes adhesionto oiled CRLC steel, galvanized steel and steel-sheet, zinc rich pr
4、imercoated substrates. This sealer has good phosphate wash resistanceproperties. The material expands during the electrocoat bake schedulesnoted per para 6.3.3. Additionally, a Control Plan is required formaterial source approvals.3.2 CONDITIONINGAll test values indicated herein are based on materials conditionedin a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C

12、 C for 1 h. Bake one panel at each materialcure schedule per para 6.3. Position panels in a horizontalattitude during material bake. After bake, condition panels at 23+/- 2 C for 4 h min. Evaluate adhesion by inserting the tip of asharp spatula under the end of the material strip. Grasp the tabof se

19、 applied to oily steel surfaces.The material shall be capable of having the release paper backingremoved without distorting the shape of the sealer.3.19 PACKAGINGThe material shall be supplied in sealed packages and materialblocking is not permitted during container shipping or storage.3.20 STORAGE
20、STABILITYShall be stored below 41 C away from all sources of heat andsunlight. Under these storage conditions, the shelf life of thematerial shall be 3 months. when these materials are stored attemperatures below 23 C, they shall be conditioned at roomtemperature prior to application. Adequate condi
21、tioning permitsthe material to obtain its optimum application properties.4 FUNCTIONAL APPROVALMaterials being evaluated for initial approval to this specificationshall be subjected to a production trial. Functional trial resultsshould be available to Design and Materials Engineering prior tomaterial
22、 approval and release.4.1 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inall characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Prior to making any change in the properties, composition,construction, color, processing or labeling of t
23、he materialoriginally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchanges affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequirements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approv
24、al of the Materials Engineeringactivity. APPROVAL OF MATERIALS:Materials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsibl
26、e Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approvalof their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffected Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity its own laboratory
27、 report to the specification (test results,not nominal values), the material designation and code number, and testspecimens for Ford evaluation.
