SCOPE The materials defined by this specification is heat expanding mastic sheet deadeners. 2. APPLICATION: ESB-M5G30-A2 specification was originally released for 1987 program applicati
3、ons that do not require testing per the flammability lot sampling plan. This material should be installed over electrocoated or primed metal surfaces before guide coat is applied. Proper expansion and bonding occurs during guide coat and enamel oven exposure at metal temperatures between 135 and 163
4、 C. To attain good adhesion, the exposure time must be greater than 8 minutes for the lower 135 C metal temperature. 3. REQUIREMENTS: Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. 3.1 QUALITY SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Material suppliers and part producers must
5、conform to the Companys Quality System Requirements. 3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSIS IR spectra and thermograms established for initial approval shall constitute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at the designated material laboratory. All samples shall produce I
6、R spectra and thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when tested under the same conditions. 3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONS All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less th
7、an 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. 13、out material separation to all test panel configurations. Test Method: . Prepare two panel assemblies as shown in Figure 1. . Subject one assembly to 135 +/- 1 C metal temperature for 8 min and the other assembly to 163 +/- 1 C metal temperature for 8 min. . After heat exposure, visually examine mat
14、erial for moldability. 3.5.5 Sag Resistance, max 6 mm Test Method: . Clamp a 50 x 100 x 1.8 mm material sample on a 100 x 150 mm electrocoated panel as shown in Figure 2. . Scribe a line indicating the location of the materials bottom edge. . Position the panel in a supporting block at a 60 angle fr
15、om horizontal and expose at 177 +/- 2 C metal temperature for 20 min. . After exposure, permit the sample to reach room temperature and measure the material sag below the scribed line. . 21、OF MATERIALS Materials defined by this specification for direct supply to the Company must have prior approval. Certain materials subcontracted by part suppliers may also require prior approval. These include materials critical to the Companys business for regulatory, safety, environmental or compat
22、ibility requirements or contractual agreements. Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from Purchasing, Design or Materials Engineering activity. Upon request, the Supplier shall submit a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by
23、a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of this specification. 5. 24、RATES ESB-M64J19 Electrocoat Primed Steel Panel: Primed per minimum specification requirements, steel nominal thickness 0.89 mm. 5.2 MECHANICAL CONVECTION OVEN The mechanical oven(s) used to cure the material shall be capable of obtaining 163 C metal temperature on body steel (0.89 mm) within 8-10 min.
