Place asealed pt (0.5 L) can, 3/4 full of reducedmaterial, in an oven at 60 +/- 1 C for 16 h.There shall be no change in viscosity greaterthan +/- 5 s or any settling which cannot bedispersed with normal hand stirred agitation.3.1.7 Flash Point, min 93 C(ASTM D 93)3.2 PREPARATION
8、OF TEST PANELS(FLTM BI 3-2, Method “D“)Prepare panels, using a suitable viscosity on separate panels toobtain a min dry film thickness of 0.0003 in (8 m), 0.0004in (10 m) and 0.0005 in (13 m), respectively.Bake 15 min at 177 C. All test panels are to be phosphatedaccording to ESB-M3P1-A, using an ap
9、proved chrome free rinse. Testpanels shall be flat, 4 x 12 in (100 x 300 mm) approximately 20gauge unpolished, CRLC body steel identified as paint testingquality steel by an embossed letter “F“ on the test side of thepanel. Steel for these test panels is specified by MaterialsEngineering Department,
10、 BEPE and selected periodically from coil(s) representative of production steel employed in Ford Productionbody panels. They shall be scribed as specified in FLTM BI 3-1before exposure.3.3 PREPARATION OF TEST PARTS(FLTM BI 17-1)Parts for this test can be obtained from the Body MaterialsEngineering D
11、epartment, Body Engineering Office. All parts are tobe phosphated according to ESB-M3P1 using an approved chrome freerinse. All test parts are to be prebaked 5 min at 149 C prior topainting.Prepare the parts by dip painting using a suitable viscosity toobtain a min dry film thickness of 0.0005 in (1
12、3 m). Hangthe parts in a vertical position for 10 min at room temperatureimmediately followed by a 10 min bake at 93 C. 20、lied to this specification must be equivalent to thatoriginally approved. Changes in formulation or processing shallnot be made without prior approval as described in SupplierProcedure I-A.4. APPROVAL OF SUPPLIERSSuppliers to this specification must be approved by the affected productengineering office. Procedure for gaining approval of a specificmaterial to a new/existing ES-M specification is contained in SupplierProcedure I-A. Approved new suppliers will be added to the EngineeringMaterials Approved Source List.
