SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a primer with good adhesion to polyolefin surfaces. The primer may be either clear or pigmented. 2. APPLICATION This specification wa
、s released originally for primers used as thin flash coats on exterior polyolefin copolymer parts, followed by a color coat. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Mate
、rials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 COMPOSITION The non-volatile portion shall be composed of resins with good adhesion to polyolefin copolymer and may be pigmented as a guide to visual coverage if desirable. The volatile portion shall be balanced to provide good application properties and complete surface
、wetting. The material shall be compatible as a flash primer with enamels or primer surfacers normally used in production. The material shall not cause skin rash or irritation (dermatitis) to exposed handlers in normal production operations. 3.2 PHYSICAL PROPERTIES 3.2.1 Non-Volatile Solids (FLTM BI
、102-01) Shall be established by the vendor on the initial approved production batch. Tolerance shall be +/- 2.0%. 3.2.2 Viscosity (FLTM BI 111-01) Shall be established by the vendor on the initial approved production batch. Tolerance shall be +/- 5 s. 3.2.3 Stability The material shall not liver or
、jell and shall retain its normal application and working properties after 30 days shelf storage at 23 +/- 2 C. 9、 m) min. 3.3.5 Aging After application of the color coat, all panels shall be aged 72 h min at 23 +/- 2 C before testing. 3.4 APPEARANCE When properly applied per para 3.3, the system shall dry to a presentable, serviceable film showing no craters, pinholes, seediness or abnormal roughness. There sh

、E PROPERTIES (All test specimens shall be prepared as described in para 3.3) 3.6.1 Water Resistance, min 240 h Test Method: Immerse the panels in distilled or deionized water maintained at 32 +/- 1 C per FLTM BI 104-01. Remove from water and immediately scribe an “X“ through the material to the subs
、trate. Dry the scribed area with a paper towel, cloth or air pressure and immediately apply, with firm thumb pressure, a min of 2 sq in (13 cm2) of ESF-M3G48 tape. Remove the tape by pulling one end at a 90 angle at a moderate speed. The following conditions shall be basis for rejection: Removal of
、paint beyond 1/16 in (1.6 mm) from any scribe line. Any evidence of blistering after tape removal.
