2、ar, thermally driedprimer.2. APPLICATIONThis sp ecification was released originally for an adhesion promoter forabrasion resistant clear topcoat for polycarbonate.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStand ard Q-101. A mutually accep

3、table Control Plan as describedtherein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 COMPOSITION3.2.1 VehicleA re sin blended in an appropriate manner to provide g

4、oodadhesion to polycarbonate substrate. 6、 specified, thermoplastic or thermosettingplastic materials, 2.5 - 4.0 mm thick of any con venient size,representative of production material. The panels shall becl eaned by an acceptable commercial process to remove moldrelea se agents, fingerprints, oils, dirt, moisture and anyother surface contam

7、ination prior to coating.3.4.2 Film Thickness, Primer 8 - 20 micrometre(FLTM BI 17-1, use FischerscopeMULTI 650 or equivalent)Recommended Procedure: Substitute a steel panel for the thermoplasticpanel (para 3.4.1), apply primer and cure per manufacturersrecommendation. Measure film thickness on stee

11、,constr uction, color, processing or labeling of the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity

12、 of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, t est samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply tothe materials addressed by this document. The r

13、estrictions aredefined in Engineering Material Specification WS S-M99P9999-A1, unlessa different suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specified on the engineeringdocument for the application.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials E

14、ngineeri ng activity. Suppliers desiring approval ofthe ir materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffec ted Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity its own laboratory rep ort t

15、o the specification (test results, notnominal values), the material designation and code number, and testspecim ens for Ford evaluation. Upon approval, the material will be addedto the Engineering Material Approved Source List.5. GENERAL INFORMATIONThe information below is provided for clarification

16、 and assistance inmeeting the requirements of the specification.5.1 FLASH POINT Below 63 C(ASTM D 93)5.2 FLAMMABILITYThis material represent s a potential fire hazard. The ManufacturingEngineering Department shall notify both the Plant Security and theSafety Units of its pre sence in the Plant to assure that proper fireprecautions are provided. The location in which it is used or storedshall be included in the notification.
