APPLICATION This specification was release d originally for material used as listings and tie down extensions in the constr

3、uction of seat trim cover assemblies for all 1986 vehicles. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. 3.1 QUALITY SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Quality System Requirements. 3.2 I

4、NFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSIS IR spectra and thermograms established for initial approval shall constit ute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at the designated material laboratory. All samples shall produce IR spectra and thermograms that correspond to the referenc

5、e standard when tested under the same conditions. 3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONS All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/ - 2 C and 50 +/ - 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same cond

10、Vehicle Safety Standard No. 302, the materials, portions of components, and composites shall not burn, or transmit a flame across its surface, at a rate of more than 101 mm/min. To demonstrate compliance, the sample size and method of testing shall be in accordance with FLTM BN 24 - 2. 3.13 FLAMMABI

11、LITY TEST PROGRAM Materials, portions of components, and composites governed by this specification must also comply with the requirements of ES - D3AB - 11014 - AA. 3.14 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITY All materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material up

12、on which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any changes to the material originally approved under this specification, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the Supplier shall notify the affected Purchasing, and Materials Engine

13、ering activities (with reasons) of the proposed changes. Upon notification of the Company , further instructions will be provided. Note: Suppliers should be prepared to provide test data and samples demonstrating compliance to this specification, if requested. Substance restrictions imposed by regul

14、ations or Company direction applies to the materials addressed by this document. The restrictions are identified in Restricted Substance Management Standard WSS - M99P9999 - A1. 4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Materials defined by this specification for direct supply to the Company must have prior approva

15、l. Certain materials subcontracted by part suppliers may also require prior approval. These include materials critical to the Companys business for regulatory, safety, environmental or compatibility requirements or contractual agreements. Suppliers des iring approval of their materials shall first o

16、btain an expression of interest from Purchasing, Design or Materials Engineering activity. Upon request, the Supplier shall submit a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of this specification.
