2、ge 1 of 1 WELDING TAPE ESD-M99L20-A 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a flat braid of tinned copper wire with a polymeric filament interbraid. 2. APPLICATION The specification was released originally for material used for the welding of polymeric bumper bars. The tape is sandwic

3、hed between two polymeric components, an electric current is passed in the weld tape to create heat and the weld completed by the application of pressure to the assembly. Fusion of the surfaces of the polymeric components occurs, together with fusion of the polymeric filament of the tape. The copper

4、 braid is encapsulated in the weld. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.4 MATERIAL The tinned copper wire shall consist of high conduct

5、ivity copper conforming to ISO 1337. The wire shall be tinned to meet the requirements of specification WSB-M1P9-B. The polymeric filament shall be a natural colored monofilament and shall be free from titanium oxides or other pigments and fillers. The selection of the precise type of polymeric fila

6、ment depends on the type of polymer in the components to be welded - see Clause 5. 5. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. The tape used for 86AB-17858-BA consisted of a braid containing 24 strands of tinned copper wire 0.152 mm diameter with 24 strands of unpigmented PNT polyester monofilament 0.3 mm diameter. The tape was used in 130 +/- 2 mm lengths.
