、, ZINC-MICRO-CRYSTALLINE ESE-M3P13-A 1 SCOPE This specification defines a micro-crystalline zinc phosphate coating. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for a phosphate coating used to hold lubricants especially for break-in periods on engine parts to reduce wear on moving parts
、 and for mild corrosion resistance. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 FILM THICKNESS 0.00003-0.0001 in (0.8-3 m) or as specified on
、 engineering drawing The film characteristics are controlled by pre-cleaning, type of metal, by time in, temperature of, and concentration of solution. 3.2 FINISH The coating shall be uniform throughout and must have a similar crystalline structure to that of the original approved sample. 3.3 RUST P
、ROTECTION After phosphate coating, parts may be protected from corrosion by use of one of the following: 3.3.1 For In-process Storage Protection: The following material has proven adequate for in-process storage protection. 3.3.1.1 One to three days: ESE-M7C32-A or equivalent. 3.3.1.2 Three days to
、six months: ESE-M2C36-A or equivalent. 5. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. 5.1 APPROVED PROCESS Process Standard PL-53-16 (E), or by an equivalent method approved by Manufacturing Engineering and concurred by the affected product engineering office. 5.2 Method of determining coating thickness to be developed by Manufacturing engineering.
