2、HEAT RESISTANT ESE-M4G195-A1. SCOPEThe material defined by this specification is a one component thixotropicspreadable silicone rubber based adhesive/sealant. It is capable of beingpumped, metered and distributed into a gasket profile. It curesprogressively inward from the surface at room temperatur
3、e absorbing watervapor in the air as the curing activator. An acetic acid odor is liberatedas vulcanization occurs. After vulcanization is complete, the tough rubberysolid is odorless.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for material having general usessuch as bonding of various
4、surfaces together; sealing crevices, irregularjoints and other cavities; electrical insulation; and formed-in-placegaskets. It adheres to a variety of substrates including metal, glass, ceramics, wood, cork, leather, fabric, painted surfaces, rubber compoundsexcept those which exude plasticizers, and
5、 most plastic materials exceptpolyethylene, teflon and some grades of acrylic and polycarbonate. Toobtain good bonds, the surface should be properly solvent cleaned to removedirt and grease, and some difficult surfaces may require a primer. Engineapplications are main bearing cap and intake manifold
6、 corner joints, bonding of and filling joints of gaskets, or formed-in-place oil pan androcker arm cover gaskets, or other applications where high operatingtemperatures of 204-260 C may be encountered.3. 10、4 in (6 mm) diameter bead shall be tack free in 1 h max andcompletely cured in 48 h max at 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5% R.H.Upon exposure to water vapor in the air, the material begins to cureimmediately on the surface and progresses inward. A tack free skinwill form in 10 - 30 minutes. It may be tooled
11、 into position by aspatula or blade for up to approximately 10 minutes before formationof cured skin becomes too advanced. Cure time is affected by relativehumi dity, degree of confinement, and cross sectional thickness.Generally a 1/4 in (6 m m) bead will cure within 24 h at 23 C and 50%R.H., optim

GENERAL INFORMATIONThe information given below is provided for clarification and assistancein meeting the requirements of this specification. This material is packaged in collapsible tubes, cartridges, bulk metalcontainers or pails, or drums. Shelf life of the materi al is approx
30、imately6 mos. - 1 year with storage recommended below 32 C, how ever, refrigerationis not required.Contai ners should always be kept sealed when not in use. After opening, aplu g of cured material may form across the container opening duringstorage. This may easily be removed and does not affect the remainingcontents.
