SCOPEThis s pecification defines the bond requirements for sponge-expandedcellular rubber or polyurethane foam gaskets of varying densities with apressure sensitive backing, treated with biocide and with or without apolyes
3、ter film backing, to plastic substrates.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for material for assembliesrequiri ng a gasket with a pressure sensitive adhesive on one side. Thepressu re sensitive adhesive is intended as an assembly aid. It should beused only where the seal is mech
4、anically retained in final assembly andwhere resistance to bacteria/fungus is required.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 PEEL STRENGTH, Plastic Membrane to Panel, min(ASTM D 903, except as specified below)Te st Method: Standard test panel to be injection molded smoothsurfaced polypropylene ESB-M4D63-A. Adhere 150
5、mm length of the 12.7mm wide specimen to the test panel using a rubber covered steelroller. (The steel roller must be 83.0 +/- 2.5 mm in diameter and44.5 +/- 1.3 mm in width, covered with rubber approximately 6 mm inthickness having a durometer hardness of 80 +/- 5. The weight of theroller which app
6、lies pr essure to the specimen shall be 2.05 +/- 0.05kg. T he roller should be constructed so that the weight of thehandle is not added to the weight of the roller during use.) Pass theroller, without application of additional pressure, over the gasketle ngthwise once in each direction at the rate o

14、on in the final product is continuously reduced.3.8 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/ortherma l analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermograms established for i nitial approval shal
15、lconst itute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material laboratory. 16、3.9 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONSAll test values indicated herein are based on ma terial conditioned ina control led atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relativehumidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under thesame conditions unless otherwise specified.3.10 ADDITIONAL REQU
17、IREMENTSSpecific requirements for material and/or manufa ctured parts shall bespecified on the Engineering drawing, Engineerin g parts specificationand/or performance specifications. All critical areas with respectto these properties shall be clearly designated on the engineeringdrawing.3.11 SUPPLIE
18、RS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inal l characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Pri or to making any change in the properties, composition,constr uction, color, processing or labeling of the materialorig inally approve
19、d under this specification, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Enginee

Test data, t est samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply tothe materials addressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Material Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1.4.
