6、uality Engineering laboratory, Merkenich) or as specified on Engineering Drawing. The painted part shall show no breaks, cracks, chipping or other failures. The topcoat shall not deteriorate the cold impact resistance of the unpainted part. 3.10 QUALITY The basecoat must be adaptable for application
7、 in accordance with the appropriate Ford Motor Company Process Specification. The basecoat must be compatible with all related material, e.g. primer, clearcoat, substrate, adhesives, etc. 3.11 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITY All materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent in all characteris
8、tics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any change in the properties, composition, construction, color, processing or labeling of the material originally approved under this specification, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the s
9、pecification requirements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology and the affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changes and obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineering activity. Test data, test samples and a new code identification are to be submitted with th
10、e request. Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply to the materials addressed by this document. 11、ogies, Inc. 4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Materials defined by this specification must have prior approval by the responsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from the affected Purchasing, Design and Materials Engi
12、neering activity. Upon request, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineering activity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of this specif
13、ication (test results, not nominal values), the material designation and code number, and test specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of a material will be based on its performance to this specification and on an assessment of suitability for intended processes and/or applications
14、. Upon approval, the material will be added to the Engineering Material Approved Source List. 5. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. 5.1 ALTERNATE PAINT SYSTEM Basecoats according to these spe
15、cifications may also be used in combination with paint system according to WSK-M2P143-A for other exterior plastic applications such as radiator grilles, mirrors, body side moldings, etc. Flash off, baking and aging conditions must then be adapted to that paint system and test panels and painted par
16、ts shall additionally meet the requirements of Performance Specification WSK-M2P143-A. 5.2 DENSITY OF THE DRY FILM See Initial Sample +/- 0.2 kg/L (FLTM BI 154-02) 5.3 MATERIAL REFERENCE All related materials used for approval of basecoat according to this specification, e.g. clearcoat, primer, thinner and plastic substrates as well as the application parameter shall be noted in the Initial Sample Report of the basecoat.
