APPLICATIONThese specifications were relea sed originally for adhesive tapes to retainexterior bodyside moldings and rubber parts to enameled surfaces. The heatac tivative side of ESK-M3G136-A2 and -A4 is preferably bonded topolych

21、or sections fromproduction moldings using. ESK-M3G136-A (Fig 3) and. ESK-M3G136-A2, -A3, -A4 (Fig 5)and co ndition for 72 hours at room temperature. The matingsurfaces must be pressed down firmly to force out trapped air toensure a good bond.2) Expose test assembly four times to a cycle as follows:1

22、6 h at 38 +/- 2 C and 98 +/- 2 % relative humidity4 h at - 40 +/- 1 C4 h at 80 +/- 2 CMo unt the panel in the slamming test fixture (see FLTM EU-BV 51-1, Load A ) so that the bonded parts face outward and areat the bottom of the test fixture. Allow the panel to fall froma horizontal position 10 time

23、s in rapid su ccession. Remove panelfrom slamming fixture and condition for 2 hours at roomtemperature.3) Examine for evidence of loss of adhesion.3.15 THERMAL SHOCK RESISTANCE No loss of adhesionTest Method: Condition bonded assemblies prepared according to 3.14for 72 hours at room te mperature and

24、 subject to the following cycle.a) 4 h water immersion at 23 +/- 2 Cb) 4 h at - 40 +/- 1 Cc) direct steam blast 50 - 70 mm from each part for 15 secondsminimu m, using a steam generator as described in FLTM EU-BI 7-3 or equivalent.3.16 PETROL RESISTANCE, min 30 N/cm2Test M ethod: Prepare test specim

25、ens according to 3.13.2 andcondition for 24 hours at room temperature. Immerse test specimensin Fuel B according to ASTM D 471 for one hour. Immerse for 1 minute inU-MG 00 9-021 protective wax compound. Remove wax coating after72 hour s by s

27、ponging with a plentiful quantity of dewaxing fluidU-MB 005-8000. After 5 to 10 minutes immerse in fresh dewaxing fluidfor 1 minute and rinse with 30 - 40 C warm tap w ater. After 16 hoursat room temperature determine shear strength in a tensile tester ata rate of pull of 25 mm/minute.3.18 HEAT RESI

28、STANCE No displacementTest M ethod: Prepare test specimens according to 3.13.2 andcon dition for 2 hours at room temperature. Gently attach a 2.25 Nforce to the lower end of the test specimens and suspend in a forcedventilated drying oven maintained at 120 +/- 2 C for 30 minutes.Allow specimens to c

Test data, t est samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply tothe materials addressed by this document. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresp onsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approvalof thei r materials shall first obtain an expression of interes

38、t from theaffec ted Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized representative of the test faci lity, demonstratingfu

39、l l compliance with all the requirements of this specification (testresults, not nominal values), the material designation a nd code number, andtes t specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of amateri al will be based on its performance to this specification and on anassessment of

40、suitability for intended processes and/or applications. GENERAL INFORMATIONThe information given below is provided for clarification and a

41、ssistancein meeting the requirements of this specification.5.1 STORAGE STABILITY(From date of receipt at Ford Motor Company)Minimu m 12 months when stored at temperatures below 30 C. Thereleas e liner shall remove easily when measured by hand peelexamination and shall n ot change appreciably after 1

42、2 months storagebelow 30 C. (To be cert ified by supplier on “Initial Sample Report“)5.2 APPLICATION CRITERIA. Only apply tape to absolutely clean and dry surface. Mating surface should be matched (contoured or parallel ) to ensure100 % contact of the bond area. Once tap e is applied to part e.g. or

43、nament or body side moldingand h as been bonded, and for any reason removed, it shall not bereused. If the ad hesive surface of the tape becomes soiled, the tape-backed part shall not be used unless tape is replaced. The adhesive side of the tape shall not be touched or handled,once the release line
