2、 USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a solvent free, hot applicable (140 +/- 2 C) butyl rubber sealer with polyisobutylene plasticizer. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used for bonding and sealing of door weatherstrip to r

3、oof. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESS Suppliers must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality System Standard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as described therein is required for material/source approval. Appropriate statistical tools must be used to analyze process/product data

4、so that variation in the final product is continuously reduced. 3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSIS Ford Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/or thermal analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification. The IR spectra and thermograms established for init

5、ial approval shall constitute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at the designated material laboratory. All samples shall produce IR spectra and thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when tested under the same conditions. 3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONS All test va

6、lues indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Expose test assemblies in a mechanically convected air-dry ove

10、n at 80 +/- 2 C for two weeks. 3. After cooling to room temperature expose test assemblies in a cold box at minus 30 +/- 1 C for 4 h. 4. 14、t panel and cover with rubber in 1 mm thickness according to SKM-2D9526-A at RT) 3.13 COMPRESSION LOAD 350 to 840 N (FLTM EU-BU 14-1, thickness 6 mm, width 8 mm) 3.14 REPAIR OVEN STABILITY Specimens, prepared according to 3.10, shall show no evidence of blistering after exposure in a mechanical conv

15、ection oven maintained at 120 +/- 2 C for 30 minutes Valuation after 60 minutes at 23 +/- 2 C. Apply centrally a 250 mm standard piece with mater

16、ial under test to 100 x 300 mm not only white, but also metallic coated test panels prepared according to FLTM EU-BI 3-2, Method Bb, and press together three times evenly using a roller according to ASTM D 1000. 2. Expose test assemblies in a mechanical convected air-dry oven at 80 +/- 2 C for two w

17、eeks. 3.16 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITY All materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any changes in the properties, composition, construction, color, processing or labelling of the mater

18、ial originally approved under this specification, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology and the affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changes and obtain the written approval

19、of the Materials Engineering activity. Test data, test samples and a new code identification are to be submitted with the request. Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford apply to the materials addressed by this document. The restrictions are defined in Engineering Material Specif

20、ication WSS-M99P9999-A1, unless a different suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specified on the engineering document for the application. 4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Materials defined by this specification must have prior approval by the responsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approval o

21、f their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from the affected Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Upon request, the supplier shall submit to the specification (test results, not nominal values), the material designation and code number, and test specimens for Fo

22、rd evaluation. Upon approval, the material will be added to the Engineering Material Approved Source List. 5. GENERAL INFORMATION 5.1 STORAGE STABILITY (from date of receipt at FMC) Min. 12 months when stored at ambient temperature of 5 C to 28 C.
