SCOPEThe

2、 mate rial defined by this specification is a water dispersion type,so lvent free, air and heat drying under body coating based on styrene-butadiene-rubber.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for material used for the repairof unc oated body skid areas on non-visible areas of th

3、e underbody. Thismater ial is mainly applied to grease free panels but also to adjacentelectrocoated and PVC underbody coated areas.Prior to the release for a particular application and in addition to therequi rements specified herein, full evaluation under actual productionconditions must be ensure

4、d by affected Component Engineering activity.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStand ard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedtherein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be

5、 used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/ortherma l analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra an

6、d thermograms established for i nitial approval shallconst itute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material laboratory. All samples sha ll produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITIONING

7、 AND TEST CONDITIONSAll test values indicated herein are based on ma terial conditioned ina control led atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relativehumidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under thesame conditions unless otherwise specified.ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONES

After 24 h at 23 +/- 2 C, 120 h at 70 +/- 2 C and 24 h at 23+/- 2 C, make two cuts through the coating along the 300 mmlength of the test pane l and 30 mm apart and try to peel-offcoating, starting at the edge with lowest film thickness.3.16 SPRAYABILITYThe material shall be a smooth homogeneous

24、 mixtu re, free from foreignmaterial and suitable for use in airless spray equipment. It shallspray evenly and rapidl y with no tip clogging of fluctuations in thespray pattern and with a minimum spray back and fogging.3.17 QUALITYThe material shall be a smooth homogeneous mixtu re, free from foreig

25、nmaterials and properties detrimental to normal production use. Themat erial must be capable of regaining its initial physicalchara cteristics and performance after recirculation or agitationprior to use.3.18 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent ina

26、l l characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Pr ior to making any changes in the properties, composition,co nstruction, color, processing or labelling of the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials abili

27、ty to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, t est samples and a new code identification areto be subm

28、itted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford isapplic able to the materials addressed by this document. Therestrictions are defined in Engineering Material Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1, unless a d ifferent suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specifiedon the engineering d

29、ocument for the application.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresp onsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approvalof thei r materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffec ted Purchasing, Design an

30、d Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity its own laboratory rep ort to the specification (test results, notnominal values), the material designation and code number, and testspecim ens for Ford evaluation. Upon approval, t
