SCOPE The material defined by these specifications is a bitumen/plastics base, magnetizable and heat bondable deadener sheet

4、ing with a non-blocking surface finish on one side. 2. APPLICATION These specifications were released originally for material used as a sound deadener in the passenger compartment to inner side of roof, door, tail gate and side wall. It must be magnetized under actual production conditions prior to

5、use and is applied to baked electrocoat. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. Note: If the finished part does not allow the preparation of plane specimens, the supplier is required to provide, together with the Initial Sample Repo

6、rt, specimens of same material and equivalent manufacture used for the finished part. Samples for control and routine checks shall be submitted as required by Quality Control. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standa

Test Method: 1) Apply 280 x 280 +/- 1 mm pieces of magnetized material to 300 x 300 x 1.5 +/- 0.1 mm test panels and expose ESK-M99G140-A1/-B1 in inverted position and ESK-M99G140-A2/-A3/-B2/-B3 in vertical position as specified in FLTM BV 150-05, Table 2 (use separate test assemblies

10、for each curing cycle): a) minimum heat curing cycle b) maximum heat curing cycle 2) Examine after cooling to room temperature. 3.8 COLD ADHESION AFTER HEAT AGEING No chipping, loss of adhesion or cracking. Test Method: 1) Specimen preparation according to clause 3.7, Test Method, section 1. 2) Proc

11、eed as outlined under FLTM BV 151-02, Method B, load “A“, 14 days heat ageing at 80 +/- 2 C, 2 hours at room temperature. 12、hesion, cracking or blistering. Test Method: 1) Specimen preparation according to 3.7, Test Method, section 1. 2) Condition test specimens for 24 hours at room temperature and subject five times to the following cycle in the sequence indicated below: 3 h at 80 +/- 2 C 1 h at 23 +/- 2 C 3 h at -40 +/

13、- 1 C 1 h at 23 +/- 2 C 16 h at 38 +/- 1 C and 98 +/- 2% relative humidity 3) After 24 hours at room temperature test specimens according to FLTM BV 151-02, Method B, clause 4 and 5, load “A“, at room temperature. 3.10 PALLETIZEING The material shall separate easily from each other without tearing.

14、Test Method: 1) Cut from material under test 5 specimens 100 x 100 mm and determine weight and thickness per specimens. 2) Ply up and cover with an aluminum plate of same size. 3) Load with a dead weight equalling a plied up height of 600 mm minus the weight of 5 specimens and cover plate. 4) Expose

15、 test assembly in a mechanical convected air dry oven maintained at a temperature of 35 +/- 2 C for 2 weeks. Test Method: 1) Attach to a test panel according to Fig. 1 a test specimen in a dimension of

18、 200 x 100 +/- 0.5 mm in a way that an area of 100 x 50 mm is covered (see Fig. 1). 2) Subject test assembly in a vertical position to 190 +/- 2 C for 20 minutes in an air dry oven. The free length of test material shall attach and heat fuse to the angled section of test panel. 3) Examine after cool

19、ing to room temperature. 3.14 ASSESSMENT OF ODOR, max Rating 2 (FLTM BO 131-01, except bond to EC-coated panels at 175 +/- 2 C for 20 minutes, 24 h at room temperature) 3.15 FLAMMABILITY (ISO 3795) 3.15.1 ESK-M99G140-A1/-A2/-A3 Burn Rate, max 100 mm/minute 3.15.2 ESK-M99G140-B1/-B2/-B3 Burn Rate, ma

20、x 100 mm/minute In order to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 302, the materials, portions of components, and composites shall not burn or transmit a flame across their surface, at a rate of more than 100 mm/minute. To demonstrate compliance, the sample size and method of testing

21、 shall be in accordance with FLTM EU-BN 024-02. 22、 specification that have not been treated, modified or reformulated, and exceed a maximum burn rate of 75 mm per minute as specified by the Flammability Lot Sampling Plan of FLTM EU-BN 024-02, must be evaluated for permanency of the materials flame retardant properties per SK-M99P9500-A, Table 1 acc

23、ording to the accelerated environmental ageing requirements applicable to the basic material category of this particular specification. Any material, portions of components, and composites defined by this specification that have been treated, modified or reformulated to conform to Flammability Lot S

24、ampling Plan of FLTM EU-BN 024-02, regardless of maximum burn rate, must be evaluated for both permanency of materials flame retardant properties and changes in mechanical, chemical and physical properties per SK-M99P9500-A, Table 1 applicable to the basic material category of this particular specif

25、ication. 5. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of these specifications. 5.1 STORAGE STABILITY (From date of receipt at Ford Motor Company) Minimum 6 months when stored between 5 C and 28 C. 5.2 HEIGHT IN STORAGE As

26、 recommended by supplier. 5.3 CONDITIONING PRIOR MAGNETIZATION The material must be conditioned to minimum 18 C prior to magnetizing.
