3、Sam ple sheets and the finished gaskets, including sections with gluedjoints, shall meet the requirem ents of this specification unless otherwisespecified.All test s and preconditioning shall be conducted in accordance with ASTMF 104, type 2 materials, unless otherwise specified. Specimens are to be
4、selected from the finished gasket. When it is not feasible to obtainspecimens from the part, the supplier must obtain writte n approval from theaffected product engineering office to waive the requirements.Specimens cut from sample sheet s shall be as follows: Tensile, 25 mm widex 76 mm minimum leng
5、th, volume 25 x 51 mm and thickness of both asrec eived, except as noted for oil immersion tests, para 3.2.3, 3.2.4,3.3.3, and 3.3.4.3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStand ard Q-101. 13、 o 29 C and 50+/- 5 % R.H. Specimens are then measured for originallength. Expose vertically hung test specimens in a controlledtemperature and humidit y chamber for 7 days at 38 C and 95 -100 % R.H., followed by 7 days at 38 C and 15 - 20 % R.H.Length of test specimen s is measured after each of th

22、ials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, t est samples and a new code identification are
23、to be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply tothe materials addressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Material Specification WS S-M99P9999-A1, unlessa different suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specified on the engineering
24、document for the application.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineeri ng activity. Suppliers desiring approval ofthe ir materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffec ted Purchasing, Design a
25、nd Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity its own laboratory rep ort to the specification (test results, notnominal values), the material designation and code number, and testspecim ens for Ford evaluation. Upon approval, the material will be addedto the Engineering Material Approved Source List.
