、RUBBER ESR-M11P16-A NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE This specification defines the performance and product requirements for a rubber adhesive. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used for adhering rubber to metallic or nonmetallic surfaces. It is not intende
、d to limit the rubber adhesive to any specific material or material system, but rather defines the performance of the entire system. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Product
、ion Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 Shall be a smooth homogeneous mixture, free from foreign materials and properties detrimental to normal use. 3.2 Shall be free from objectionable or irritating odors, both as received and after aging. 3.3 Must provide easy brushing characteristics, a relatively fa
、st drying rate, and a long bonding range. 3.4 The material, when dry, shall produce a bond which is firm and durable, yet retain a rubbery characteristic. 3.5 The dry film may retain a small degree of tack. 3.6 Must be capable of application by brush or flow method. 3.7 May be applicable by either a
、 one-coat or two-coat system, with an open air drying time of from 5 - 90 min. 3.8 Shall have no detrimental effect on rubber, metals, plastics or exterior production and repair paints. 3.9 Shall be resistant to water exposure and shall not be affected by windshield washer solvents, deicers or car w
、ash solutions normally used. 3.10 Must have strength and flexibility over a temperature range of -29 to 82 C. Precautionary notes, such as the detrimental effect on painted surfaces, etc., involved in the use of the material should be clearly stated on the product label. 3.12 The adhesive must be reasonably safe to apply and must meet all Federal, state
、and local regulations. The material must be formulated to minimize health hazards to the individual due to toxic or otherwise injurious ingredients. 3.13 The adhesive must be capable of storage without any detrimental effect for an extended period of time. Supplier shall furnish all necessary inform
、ation on types of material required for packaging and on the storage life of the material in each of the product packages supplied. For any particular size package or container for the product, the supplier shall furnish information of the safe storage practice and recommendations as to maximum and
、minimum ambient temperatures and direct sun load conditions at which the product may be stored without any adverse effect. 3.14 Specific chemical and physical properties are not specified herein, but an Engineering Quality Control Supplement will be issued to cover each approved material. The select
、ed engineering approved Source shall furnish appropriate chemical and physical properties along with the production tolerance limits that apply to the material(s) upon which approval was given. The agreed upon values and limits will be issued to Quality Control by the affected product engineering of
、fice. These values will then be used by Quality Control for ongoing quality verifications. The Quality Control Supplement is an integral requirement of this specification. If more than one source supplies material to this specification, a Quality Control Supplement will be issued for each specific a
、pproved material. 3.15 LABELING 3.15.1 Provisions of this specification are applicable when material is used according to labeling directions. Any precautions involved in the use of the material must be clearly stated on the product label. 3.15.2 The label(s) for the material(s) must comply to the F
