SCOPE This specification establishes the performance and product requirements for DEXRON-II service fill automatic transmission fluid to be marketed under the Ford
3、 Motor Company trademark, Motorcraft. It is intended to limit the material to a specific formulation until a trademarked ATF is released. It defines the total performance required of DEXRON-II automatic transmission fluid containing an LZ 7993 additive package. 2. APPLICATION This specification was
4、released originally for automatic transmission fluids used as power transmission, hydraulic control, heat transfer and general lubricants in automatic transmissions requiring specific clutch and band frictional characteristics, specifically intended for engagement noise reduction. These fluids are l
5、imited to DEXRON-II service fill requirements specifically recommended by the vehicle manufacturer for use at artic-like temperatures. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Produ
6、ction Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 Suppliers fluid must be qualified pursuant to General Motors DEXRON-II Automatic Transmission Fluid Qualification Program and Procedures (RLSP 73-3), latest edition. Supplier must furnish to the affected product engineering office for permanent retention, and ce
7、rtified by a qualified representative of Supplier, copies of the General Motors Original Formulator Qualification on forms “A“ (Application for Test of Fluid), “B“ (Decision on Test), “C“ (Application for DEXRON_II Trademark License, Original Formulators), “D“ (DEXRON-II Trademark License, original
8、Formulators), and “E“ (Assignment of Identification Number, Original Formulators). 3.2 Must be dyed red. 3.3 Supplier must furnish a completed DEXRON-II form “G“ (latest revision) to the affected product engineering office. It will be the responsibility of the affected product engineering office, in
9、 consultation with the Office of the General Counsel, to combine form “G“ with other required General Motors forms to obtain a rebranders license to use the DEXRON-II trademark and rebranders identification number for the Company. DEXRON-II is a registered trademark of General Motors Corporation. 3.
10、4 SAFETY Must be safe to use and must be formulated to minimize employee health hazards due to toxic or otherwise injurious ingredients. 11、rd Global Technologies, LLC Page 2 of 3 3.5 STORAGE Shall not settle or separate to the extent that would require remixing before use and must be capable of storage without any detrimental effect for a minimum of two years. Supplier shall furnish all necessary information on types of material requir
12、ed for packaging and on the storage life of the material in each of the product packages supplied. For any particular size package or container for the product, the supplier shall furnish information on safe storage practice and recommendations as to maximum and minimum ambient temperatures and dire
13、ct sun load conditions at which the product may be stored without any adverse effect. If the package is considered unsafe for storage in an automotive vehicle, the package shall be labeled accordingly and the safe storage conditions specified. 3.6 CHEMICAL AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES The following physi
14、cal properties are required: Viscosity at 100 C, New Fluid, min 6.8 mm2/s (ASTM D 445) Viscosity at -40 C, New Fluid, max 5000 mPas (ASTM D 2983) An Engineering Quality Control Supplement will be issued to cover each approved material. The selected Engineering approved source shall furnish appropria
15、te chemical and physical properties along with the production tolerance limits that apply to the material(s) upon which approval was given. The agreed upon values and limits will be issued to Quality Control by the affected product engineering office. These values will then be used by Quality Contro
16、l for ongoing quality verification. The Quality Control Supplement is an integral requirement of this specification. If more than one source supplies material to this specification, a Quality Control Supplement will be issued for each specific approval material. 3.7 LABELING 3.7.1 Supplier shall dis
17、play the rebranders qualification number and DEXRON-II trademark in the manner and location specified by the affected product engineering office in consultation with the Corporate Identity Office on all containers of the Motorcraft branded material. 3.7.2 Provisions of this specification are applica
18、ble when material is used according to labeling directions. Any precautions involved in the use of the material must be clearly stated on the product label. 3.7.3 The label(s) for the material(s) must comply to the Federal Hazardous Substances Act and all other provisions under the Consumer Product
19、Safety Commission and all other applicable federal, state and local regulations. Supplier shall furnish the affected product engineering office with the label(s). 3.7.4 Supplier shall furnish certification that the composition of his product has been examined and that the label recommended is in com
20、pliance with the Federal hazardous Substance Act and all other provisions under the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Completed Material Health and Safety Data Sheets and Hazardous Substances Data Sheets must be submitted by the supplier to the Ford Motor Company toxicologist. ENGINEERING MATERIAL

A
22、Ford Mandatory Reporting of Critical Materials form must be submitted for each product to the affected product engineering office to assist Ford Motor Company compliance with the Federal Toxic Substances Control Act. 3.7.6 Supplier must furnish detailed application instructions and specific usage in
23、formation for container labels. This portion of the label information must be approved by the affected product engineering office. 3.7.7 If the label submitted by the supplier contains any advertising claims, suitable corroborative testing data must also be furnished. Such claims and data are encour
24、aged. 3.7.8 Marking Containers and cartons must be marked with a code indicating source and compounding date of the material. Supplier must furnish this code to the affected product engineering office. Container marking may be waived if approved in writing by the affected product engineering office.
25、 3.8 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 3.8.1 The test report data furnished by the supplier showing compliance with this specification shall give the specific test methods followed and shall give specific answers to generalized requirements. 3.8.2 If not specified above, generally accepted test methods (American
26、 Society for Testing and Materials, Society of Automotive Engineers and Ford Laboratory Test Methods are preferred) and procedures should be followed where such methods are known, otherwise the methods of evaluation should be explained in detail. 3.8.3 Comparative performance data ratings utilizing the requirements outlined above, comparing the proposed material(s) to presently marketed Ford Motor Company products, are encouraged.
