2、cedure is used for measuring the distinctness of image (D.I.) of painted surfaces with a beam of incident light at an angle of 30 +/ - 3 degrees. Materials and Apparatus Required Dorigon Glossmeter D47R - 6F Dorigon meter (optical sender and signal processor).* Primary Standards A highly polished, p

4、 Panels As specified in FLTM BI 103 -02 (for spray systems), or FLTM BI 120 - 01 (for e lectrocoat systems), or as specified in the applicable engineering document. Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/

5、 - 2 C and 50 +/ - 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. 6、 FLTM BI 103 - 02 or BI 120 -01, or specified by the applicable engineering document. 2. Wash the panels, if soiled, with neutral liquid soap and water, rinse with deionized or distilled water and blow off with air. Standardization 1. Release the standby button on the Glossmeter and allow the meter

7、to warm up for 15 minutes. 2. Screw the three alignment posts into the port collar. 3. Place the optical sensor in the cradle, with the specimen port facing upward. 4. Place the primary standard on the specimen port with the beam directional arrows in the same direction. 5. Press the R s button on t

Place the secondary standard on the specimen port and press the R s button. 10. Adjust the maximum reading on the digital display by

10、 means of the adjustment knob on the end of the optical sensor. If the value is not within +/ - 2.0 of the calibrated R s value of the secondary standard, refer to Attac hment A. Note: Position and cleanliness of this standard is critical. 11. Press the D.I. button. If the value displayed is not wit

The instrument should be cleaned regularly internally and externally. 2. It is best to keep the standby button engag ed when

18、the instrument is not in use in order to improve stability of the instrument, decrease the warm - up period necessary before beginning measurements, and extend lamp life. Standards 1. Store primary standard in a clean envelope. Wash with soap and water and dry with a soft cloth. Do not scratch. 2. S

19、tore secondary standard in a clean envelope. Wash with soap and warm water, rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry. Obtain a new standard if questionable readings are obtained. Chemicals, materials, par ts, and equipment referenced in this document must be used and handled properly. Each party is res

MEASUREMENT OF DISTINCTNESS OF IMAGE OF PAINTED SURFACES Attachment A Optical Sensor Calibration Note: The instrument is factory calib

21、rated and no significant change in calibration should occur after it leaves the factory. Consequently, if a problem arises when standardizing, exhaust all other possibilities for standardizing the instrum ent (e.g. cleaning, focusing) before attempting any of the following calibration adjustments. T

22、hese adjustments should be done only by a qualified technician. 1. Set the standardize control knob to its full counterclockwise position. 2. Turn the knob fi ve complete turns in the clockwise direction. (The instrument will then be at the center of its range.) 3. Place the optical sensor in the cr

23、adle. 4. Put the zero black box supplied with the standards over the specimen port. 5. Depress the CAL and R s b uttons. 6. Using a small screwdriver, adjust the R s zero trimpot through the access hole in the optical sensor until the display reads “+ 0.00“. 7. Depress the CAL and D.I. buttons and a

Depress the CAL and R s buttons and adjust the 2 zero trimpot of the optical sensor until the display reads “+ 0.00“. 9. Place the primary standard on the specimen port. 10. Observe the arrow pointer positions on

Depress the R s button (all other buttons in the released position) and adjust for maximum reading on the display by using the adjustment knob at the end of the optical sensor. 12. 27、e CAL and D.I. buttons and adjust the D.I. top scale trimpot in the optical sensor until the readout displays the exact value which was recorded in the previous step. 16. Depress the CAL and R s buttons and adjust the 2 top scale trimpot in the optical sensor until the readout displays the same valu

28、e as in the previous step. Note: The readout has now shifted one position to the left and the last digit on the right should be zero. 17. Repeat this complete procedure (except for setting the standardize control knob to center of its range) if substantial adjustment has been made. Note: For additional information refer to the Hunterlab Instruction Manual for the Model D47R -6F Dorigon Glossmeter.
