8、onditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5% relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Specimen Size: The material specimen is 127 x 127 mm and the soiling area is a circle with a diameter of 57 mm,
9、 see Figure 1. Soiling Procedure Apply each soiling agent onto a separate test specimen. Allow each soiling agent to sit on the test specimen for 1 hour before proceeding to the cleaning procedure. Grease Use 0.2 grams of grease for all materials except carpet. For carpet use 2.0 grams. Spread the g
10、rease in a thin, uniform layer (40 +/- 5 mm) onto the center of the test specimen using a metal applicator. Synthetic Soil Place the 57 mm diameter soiling area template onto the test specimen, as shown in Figure 1. Spread 2.0 grams of synthetic soil inside the 57 mm diameter opening of the template
11、. Place the aluminum circular disk onto the soiled area. Place the 5 kg weight on the circular disk for 30 seconds. Then remove the circular disk, making sure the soiling agent remains on the surface of the test specimen. Coffee Place the flat test specimen on white paper towels. Apply 2 mL of the c
12、offee solution onto the center of the specimen. Cleaning Procedure 1. For grease, remove excess with a scraper, taking care not to damage the material. 2. For synthetic soil, remove excess with a vacuum cleaner. 3. For coffee, remove the specimen from the white paper towels and blot the specimen wit
13、h paper towels until no transfer of liquid is evident on the paper towels. 4. Apply cleaning agent to half of the exposed soiled area to observe the pre- and post-cleaning conditions. 5. Allow cleaning agent to remain on test specimen for 3-5 minutes. Rub with a damp white cotton cloth, applying uni
14、form force to remove any stain. The rubbing time should be limited to approximately one minute at 1-2 cycles/second. For fabrics, use a soft brush (tooth brush) instead of white cloth for rubbing the stain with the cleaner. 6. Wipe immediately with dry, clean cotton cloth. If the soiling agent is no
15、t completely, repeat the cleaning procedure once more. 7. Allow cleaned area on test specimen to air dry for 24 hours.
