1、FORD LABORATORY TEST METHOD BN 151-01 Date 2001 O9 17 1992 03 30 BOND STRENGTH OF TRIM ASSEMBLIES Action Revisions Revised Editorial - no technical change A. Cockman Application This procedure is used to evaluate the bond strength of dielectrically welded vinyl-coated fabrics, textiles as well as th

2、e corresponding accessory welding materials. Apparatus Required Tensile Machine With automatic recording device and special jaws having grips at least 50 mm wide. Convection Oven This oven must be capable of maintaining a constant temperature of 80 +/-I OC and a relative humidity of 98 +/- 2 %. Cond

3、itioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 OC and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Procedure Method “A“ - D

4、etermination of the Original Peel Bond Strength 1. From an appropriate assembly, welded under normal production conditions, prepare two test specimens 50 mm wide and cut out at right angles to the welded seams. Each test specimen must incorporate at least 3 welded seams. 2. Clamp the test specimen i

In case of such assemblies the flexible material must at times be greater in length. CopyrightO2001, Ford Global Technologies, Inc FORD LABORATORY TEST METHOD BN 151-01

7、3. Start the machine and proceed to peel off all welded seams on the test specimen, using a test speed of 125 mm/minute and record the peak value in N/5cm. Method “B“ - Determination of Peel Bond Strength After Aging 1. Take an assembly or, in cases where this is not possible, a section of an assemb

Take the test assembly out of the oven and cool it for 30 minutes to 23 +/-2 OC and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity. 4. Evaluate the peel bond strength of the assembly as describe

10、d in Method “A, steps 1 to 3. Method “C“ - Determination of the Peel Bond Strength After Humidity Exposure 1. Prepare welded assemblies, welded under normal production conditions, and if possible large in size, and condition for 24 hours in a climatic cabinet at 38 +/- 2 OC and 98 +/- 2 % relative h

In order to avoid penetration of moisture between the individual plies from the exposed sides, the edges of the material under test must be sealed with an adhesive tape. 2. Remove the test assembly fom the climatic cabinet and condition it for
