2、is used to determine the fuel resistance of colored or painted exterior plastics parts e.g. bumpers under high ambient temperatures. Apparatus and Materials Required Apparatus Mechanical convection oven with an accuracy of +/- 2 C Burette with support Appropriate sample holder with approximately 10o
3、 inclined table Collecting tube for fuel Test Fuel Mixture of 85 % by volume of liquid fuel C per ISO 1817, and 15 % by volume of methanol (industrial grade), or as specified by the Engineering Materials Specification. Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on ma
4、terial conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Procedure 1. Place the plastic test specimen to be tested into a mechanical convection oven for a mini
5、mum of 30 minutes at 50 +/- 2 C. 2. Immediately after removing from the oven drop 5 ml of the test fuel onto the hot surface of the specimen in short intervals within one minute. 6、e plastic specimen at 23 C until the next test cycle or evaluation starts. 4. Repeat the test twice after intervals of 24 hours by dripping the test fuel onto exactly the same spot of the specimen surface according to the above procedure steps 1 and 2. Evaluation Evaluate the test specimen visually
7、after 72 hours from the conclusion of the third test cycle according to the Engineering Materials Specification. Chemicals, materials, parts, and equipment referenced in this document must be used and handled properly. Each party is responsible for determining proper use and handling in its facilities.
