Apparatus Required Laboratory Oven Maintained at 50 +/ - 2 C Test Tube 10 x 75 mm High Swelling Oil ASTM No. 3 Oil (ASTM D 471) Aniline Point - 70 +/ - 2 C (ASTM D 611) Saybolt universal viscosity - 15
3、5 +/ - 5 s at 38 +/ - 2 C (ASTM D 88) Flash Point - 165 +/ - 2 C (ASTM D 92) Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/ - 2 C and 50 +/ - 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tes
4、ted under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Procedure 1. Cut a 600 mm length of tape from the sample roll. 2. Wrap the tape spirally around the test tube with a 20 g/mm width tension and with an overlap of one -half the width of the tape in a simulated splice, except the last 25 mm of
5、tape shall be applied without tensio n. 3. Suspend the assembly vertically in clean ASTM No. 3 high swelling oil at 50 +/ - 2 C for 48 hours. 4. After the test period, remove the test tube assembly and examine for blistering or unwinding of more than one turn of tape, as specified by the re levant Materials Engineering Specification. Chemicals, materials, parts, and equipment referenced in this document must be used and handled properly. Each party is responsible for determining proper use and handling in its facilities.
