2、to test automotive sealers for staining resulting from plasticizer migration. Apparatus and Materials Required Oven Mechanical convection; must be capable of being maintained at 102 +/- 2 C. Filter Paper Whatman No. 40, or equivalent. VWR Catalog No. 28475 - 060. Conditioning and Test Conditions All
3、 test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Procedure 1. Apply a smooth bead of sealer approximately
4、13 mm wide, 5 mm thick and mm long to a disc of filter paper. 2. Place the filter paper and sealer in the oven at 102 +/- 2 C for 72 h. 3. Remove from the oven and examine the filter paper by holding the paper to a light source with the test material away from the observer. Examine for migration bey
5、ond the contact area of the sealer and report as per the relevant Engineering Material Specification. 4. Examine beads for softness and pliability and report as per the Engineering Material Specification. Chemicals, materials, parts, and equipment referenced in this document must be used and handled properly. Each party is responsible for determining proper use and handling in its facilities.
