5、ogies, Inc. Procedure 1. Weigh the screen in air (W1), then in water (W2) at 23 +/- 2 C (see Note). 2. Apply 3 - 5 g of sealer to the screen and spread with a spatula to a uniform thickness. 3. Weigh screen and sample in air (W3), then in water (W4). 4. Suspend the screen containing the sample in th
6、e oven at 70 +/- 2 C for 70 h. 5. Remove from the oven and cool to 23 +/- 2 C for 1 h. 6. Weigh screen and sample again in air (W5), then in water (W6) at 23 +/- 2 C. Evaluation Calculate the percentage volume change of the sealer as follows: (W3 W1) - (W4 W2) - (W5 W1) - (W6 W2) Volume change % = x
7、 100 (W3 W1) - (W4 W2) Note: Positive result = Volume loss Negative result = Volume gain Where: W1 = Weight of screen in air. W2 = Weight of screen in water. W3 = Weight of screen plus sample in air. W4 = Weight of screen plus sample in water. W5 = Weight of screen plus sample in air after oven expo
8、sure. W6= Weight of screen plus sample in water after oven exposure. Note: It is important that no air bubbles are clinging to the test specimen during the weighing in distilled water. This is accomplished by dipping the specimen in ethyl alcohol and again in distilled water before weighing. Chemicals, materials, parts, and equipment referenced in this document must be used and handled properly. Each party is responsible for determining proper use and handling in its facilities.
