、 used to determine the water wash resistance of adhesive and sealant materials. Apparatus Required Water Source A tap water source capable of maintaining water temperature between 50 - 60 C and water rate at 11.4 L/minute. The water rate can be correlated to and monitored by pressure (see Figure 1).
、 Spray Nozzle Spraying System Company nozzle number 1/2 GG - 25 full jet or functional equivalent. Hose Rubber hose approximately 10 mm I.D. Steel Test Panel One 300 x 300 x 0.89 mm oily CRLC steel panel is required. Panel is precoated with light mineral oil at a surface application of approximately
、 2.2 cm3 /m2 after rinsing with petroleum naptha. Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions
、 unless otherwise specified. Procedure 1. Apply a 25 x 200 mm ribbon of material at the thickness specified in the material specification on an oily steel panel. Position the ribbon horizontally 75 mm above the panel bottom edge. Condition panel in a horizontal (flat) position for 3 h at 23 +/- 2 C.
、 2. Adjust the water temperature between 50 - 60 C and nozzle water rate at approximately 11.4 L/minute. 7、e 1. The axis of the spray nozzle should be positioned at approximately 90 to the panel and approximately 150 mm away. 4. Method A: Indirect Impingement Direct the lower edge of the water spray 25 mm above the upper edge of the ribbon. Method B: Direct Impingement Direct the water spray directly upo
、n the ribbon. Whichever method is used, the water spray should be moved from side to side throughout the test in such a manner that the spray horizontally crosses the panel every 2 s for 3 minutes. 5. Visually examine the material for any wash off and/or displacement beyond the original ribbon posit
