2、termine the adhesion properties of sound deadener pads, when subjected to impact at low temperature. Apparatus Required Mechanical Convection Oven Capable of maintaining temperatures up to 250 +/- 2 C. Balance Precision +/- 0.5 g - maximum permitted load 3 kg. Cold Box Capable of maintaining a tempe

3、rature of - 40 +/- 1 C. The box must be large enough to accommodate the fixture during the slamming test. Impact Test Fixture As described and illustrated in FLTM BV 151-01. Materials Required Test Panels Preparation as in Attachment 1. Steel Body Skin Panels. Dimensions: 300 x 300 x 1.5 +/- 0.10 mm

4、 Load A. (1.0 kg) 300 x 300 x 1.5 +/- 0.10 mm Load B. (2.5 kg) Surface finish 0.9 - 1.8 micrometre C.L.A. Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24

Procedure Method A (for Self-adhering Deadener Pads) 1. Prepare 3 test panels in accordance with FLTM BI 120-01. Deter

6、mine the weight of the individual panels (W1 ). 2. Cut 3 specimens 300 x 280 mm from the material under test. Remove the release paper from the specimens and apply to the test panels by hand pressure or roller, leaving a 20 mm strip on the top of each panel where it fits into the clamping fixture. 3

7、. Condition the test assemblies according to Attachment 1, Item 1. 4. Determine the total weight (W2 ) for each individual assembly. 5. Insert an assembly into the clamping fixture (with deadener side outermost). Remove the load (Part 5) and balance the assembly by means of the adjustable counterwei

8、ght (Part 3). 6. Attach load A or B as required, to lever (Part 4) and fix at a distance of 300 mm from the pivot center. 7. Place the assembly and impact test fixture in the Cold Box for a minimum of 3 h at a temperature of - 40 +/- 1 C, if not otherwise specified by the applicable Engineering Mate

9、rial Specification. 8. While still in the Cold Box allow the lever to fall 6 times in rapid succession from a horizontal position. 9. Remove assembly from the Cold Box and condition for 16 h at 23 +/- 2 C. 10. Remove any loose particles of test material and determine the weight (W3 ) of the assembly

10、. 11. Repeat steps 5 - 10 using the other 2 assemblies. Note: If required by the applicable Engineering Material Specification, the assemblies may be subjected to additional testing cycles according to Steps 7, 8, 9 and 10. Evaluation Calculate the percentage of material retained on each panel as fo

11、llows: Retain material (%) = W 3 W 1 x 100 W2 W1 Where: W1 = Weight of test panel. W2 = Weight of test panel plus deadener pad. 12、al Technologies, Inc. Method B (for Sound Deadener Pads used on E.C. Coated Surfaces) 1. Prepare 3 test panels in accordance with FLTM BI 120-01. Determine the weight of individual panels (W1 ). 2. Cut three specimens 300 x 280 mm from the material under test. Apply the specimens to the panels, leav

13、ing a 20 mm strip at the top of each panel where it fits into the clamping fixture. 3. Condition the test assembly in the oven according to Attachment 1, Item 2. The assembly must be conditioned in a horizontal position. 4. Remove the assembly from the oven, condition for 2 h at 23 +/- 2 C and deter

14、mine the total weight (W2 ) of the individual assemblies. 5. Proceed as outlined under steps 5 - 11 of Method A. Evaluation As outlined under Method A. Method C (for Sound Deadener Pads use on Oiled Surfaces) 1. Prepare 3 test panels in accordance with FLTM BZ 150-11 - normal grade. Determine the we

15、ight of the individual panels (W1 ). 2. Cut 3 specimens 300 x 280 mm from the material under test. Apply the specimens to the panels, leaving a 20 mm strip at the top of each panel where it fits into the clamping fixture. 3. Condition the test assembly in the oven according to Attachment 1, Item 3.

16、The assembly must be conditioned in a horizontal position. 4. Remove the assembly from the oven, condition for 2 h at 23 +/- 2 C and determine the total weight (W2 ) of the individual assemblies. 5. Proceed as outlined under steps 5 - 11 of Method A. Evaluation As outlined under Method A. Chemicals,

17、 materials, parts, and equipment referenced in this document must be used and handled properly. Each party is responsible for determining proper use and handling in its facilities.
